We use Ariel more than 6 years....
Advantages: good sense of smell, the clothes are clean and it is economic Disadvantages: Ariel for white clothes is very strong
Ariel has good sense of smell, the clothes are clean and it is economic.
We use different Ariel washing powders for coloured clothes, white clothes and to wash by hand.
Ariel for white clothes
It is strong and the clothes are really white. Even the table-cloth doesn't have spots! Don't use it for coloured clothes.
Ariel for coloured clothes
... ...preserves the colours.
Ariel for hand wash
It is not strong and you don't have any problems with the skin of your hands. It makes a lot of foam so don't use it for the washing machine.
I had problem with Ariel one time only but it was my fault maybe. I used Ariel for white colours to wash by hand. I put the washing powder and I added the water after that and small spots appear - the ...

Persil Washing Powder
Advantages: Soft and gentle, not irritating to the skin Disadvantages: none
...I can honestly say that Persil is by far the best I have tried. There are Biological, Colours Tablets, liquid, I myself always go for the powder, - not for any special reason, it's just my choice. Biological is good for whites, obviously colour is good for colours, especially if you have items of clothing that are special. If you have children, who get mucky in the garden, or eating their meals, it is ideal,it removes stains, leaving clothes spotless. ...

♦Cosmic Cleaning With Saturn's Balls♦
Advantages: Eco Friendly, Could save you money in the long term Disadvantages: Expensive initial cost, Not too good without Stain Remover
My mum gave me this set of Ecozone EcoballsŪ after she had received them as a gift. She asked me to try them out to see what I thought about them, knowing I like trying out new products. The box contained 3 EcoballsŪ, 3 refill packs, 45ml tube of Ecozone stain remover and a very handy instruction leaflet. Apparently the contents of the box allow you to do 1000 washes based on a 30 minute cycle in the washing machine. (The balls with pellets last ... ...additional 250 washes) Those in hard water areas may achieve a lower amount. Just to let you know we live in a soft water area and a 60°c wash takes 1 hour 30 minutes in my machine, so I was interested to see how these perform
♦ WHAT ARE THEY ♦
EcoballsŪ are an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional washing detergents. EcoballsŪ are exactly that "Balls", made of plastic and green in colour with a sponge ring around them, ...

Never go back to cheap powder
Advantages: great smell and super clean results Disadvantages: none
...child my mother always bought bold washing powder (the blue box) and I thought she was boring and stuck in the same old routine. When I grew up and had to do my own washing I think I tried every other brand you can think of. Some smelt nice but didint clean well, often you would notice items were not as white as they should be. I decided to get Bold despite the slightly higher price, probably due to the 2 in 1. I have to say I was extrememly impresssed. ... ...the laundry smelt lovely and fresh..even after drying. I can honestly say I would never go back to buying any other brand I swear by Bold. It comes in a range of fragrances - all great. Definatley worth paying an extra few pennies. I highly recommend giving Bold a go. ...

It stinks.
Advantages: Cheap, suitable for washing non-clothes (towels etc) Disadvantages: Smells horrid, unsuitable for using on clothes
...I chose to try was Tesco Colours and this is the one in the purple box. Quite a bit cheaper than my usual Persil, I decided to give this a go.
The box is presented nicely and the the powder seemed to be well made. There is no large lumps for example, so everything seemed to be ok.
A big problem was my washing seemed to smell. Now I don't usually put any conditioner in. This went on for a couple of weeks and suddenly I realised it was this powder. ... ...some friends (we must have run out of exciting conversation), it turns out that they had exactly the same problem.
Now, I use the Tesco washing powder for items like towels, tea-towels and other non-clothes. But for clothes, it has to be Persil or another brand other than Tesco. ...
