As a middle aged lady seeking to replace an ageing petrol mower with something lighter and faster, I have been thrilled with this excellent machine. The basic machine is made of heavy duty plastic type material, and whilst this seemed rather "cheap" after the metal mower I had before, I love the resulting lightness. ...The large 50L grass box means you do not have to keep emptying, and it is shaped with a sort of funnel which helps direct the contents into the refuse sacks I use to dispose of garden waste. The old mower had a grass box with "letterbox" shape and it was a very messy job to get the cuttings into the sack! As my mum runs her own cleaning and gardening company i purchased this for her last mothers day. She finds it very useful for her day to day tasks. This is a good mower. I had researched into the many various options, and was looking at petrol mowers, but as they tend to be quite heavy to be worthwhile for a small garden (mine is about 10 by 8 metres), I opted for this electric machine. It certainly does collect the cut grass. On leaving the lawn for two weeks (after using weed and feed) I cut it and was very pleased that the machine collected some 5 or 6 containers full. ...my older hover mower. The cutting height is easily altered by a lever, although I tend to keep it in the height that suits my lawn the best. It also does cut very close to the lawn edge, provided there are no obstructions. I bought the Bosch Rotak 43 as it was the largest electric mower I could find, and I have a lot of grass. I had a qualcast before, so was very happy with the whole Bosch scene. The reviews said that it was quiet, lightweight and cut long, wet grass. The mower arrived on the one day it didn't rain, so I put it to the test. It does everything it says on the box.
