Becoming A Two-Mower Family By Mistake

Advantages: Easy handling over rougher terrain
Disadvantages: No grass collection. When all said and done, it only cuts like any other rotary mower

...MONDAY 15th May Most people with grass to cut will at least have heard of Flymo - I'm not entirely sure they INVENTED the hover mower, but their name always springs to mind, for fairly obvious reasons. I've got quite a long thin garden, largely give ...

Horses for Courses

Advantages: Fast and powerful, easy starting
Disadvantages: Height adjustment, Handle attachment, only stores flat, poor on edges

The good news is the simplicity and manoeverability of hover, and the Honda four stroke motor On the other hand the XL500 seems rather expensive, around £300, for what it is, being just a big tough plastic/?fibreglass bowl with a powerful engine on t ...

Mowing The Lawn Just Became Enjoyable With The Bosch Rotak 34

Advantages: Easy to use. Cuts brilliantly.
Disadvantages: Like most electric mowers - the cable, but there's not really a way around that!

Having lived in my home now for a few years, we have naturally made the progression up the 'Lawnmower Ranks'. With high overheads to begin with, we plump for a cheap as chips Flymo - it did the job, but after a while it became a chore. Then the missus ...
