...If fondue sets were the epitome of 1970's dinner party kitsch, this violently tangerine- coloured gem by Le Creuset must surely be the John Travolta of cheese-bubblers. Shamelessly orange, and nestled like a plump hen on its black, cast-iron nest, the Creuset caquelon somehow contrives to be chic and yet timeless, stylish yet efficient. It seems made to last, possibly forever, and is very easy to clean. In short, the Le Creuset Gourmand is the smartest and most functional fondue caquelon I've ever owned. Each piece made in its own individual mould in a process that has hardly changed since 1925. Then it is finished and smoothed before being given two coats of enamel to ensure a long and hygenic life. My Le Creuset is in the blue colour, but many others are available – the traditional Volcanic orange, cerise, granite, black and stone. Advantages: should last a life time
Disadvantages: very very heavy!

...carrying the largest pan when it is full so now I have just given up with it. Another problem is cleaning them. You are not allowed to use anything abbrasive on them so if your cooking is anything like mine then they will get in a state and it does take alot of elbow grease to get them sparkling again. You need to take care with these pans as they do chip very easily. You cant stack them inside each other and be very careful not to bang them around too much when you are using them as you will gradually be finding bits of the enamel missing! Le Creuset make a vast variety of cookware including saucepans, frying pans, Fondue sets, kettles and casserole dishes and in a wide variety of sizes. If you are thinking about buying any of these products I would strongly recommened taking a day trip to France as you will find everything alot cheaper... Read review
