I love lecreuset and got a set of casserole dishes and oven dishes for wedding presents. I've been happily using them and loving the whole oven to table to hob experience and just the general quality feel of the prodcuts. However, my favuorite oval casserole dishes has recently lost a few bits from the cast iron enamel on the inside base of the pot. I emailed lecreuset through their website and got a quick call back - great I thought. However, the call agent then went through lots of questions like have you ever burnt anything in it, do you use the high setting on your gas hob etc etc. Apparently the 'lifetime guarnatee' is only valid for manufacuter's faults and should I have used the top gas heat on my hob with my casserole dish at any point then this will damage the cast iron coating!!! LeCreuset 3-Ply Stainless Steel 30cm Mediterranean Casserole - an investment which repays its' outlay as you use it. Brilliant when cooking larger quantities. Easy to manage on the cooker despite its size. The handles are flat so you are able to get a good grip and we find they don't become hot. Heats up quickly and retains heat so we cook at a lower temperature. The lid fits well so once the food is cooked we can turn the heat off until we are ready to serve. The size is ideal as you can add ingredients and still be able to control the contents of the casserole. We mainly cook with olive oil and have no problems with food sticking.
