(+) Tasty and versatile, it can be added to a wide range of meals to give it a kick! (-) I wish they sold the bottle sizes that they have in the restaurants!
Advantages: Great taste, lots of flavour and in squeeze bottle Disadvantages: Quite a strong taste for some.

Lea & Perrins is best known as the maker of Lea & Perrins brand of Worcestershire sauce, which was first sold in 1838 by two men John Wheeley Lea and William Henry Perrins, dispensing chemists from Broad Street, Worcester. Soon Mr Lea & Mr Perrins were bottling the sauce. Lea & Perrins opened their first shop on January 1st 1823. They opened further businesses in Kidderminster in 1825 and Cheltenham in 1834. Without any kind of advertising, in just a few short years it was known and was in kitchens throughout Europe. It wasn't long before it reached kitchens around the globe, Lea & Perrins sauce quickly became the indispensable ingredient that cooks relied on to create mouth-watering meals. Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce British and American recipes differ slightly in that the British recipe uses malt vinegar while the American version uses distilled white vinegar, giving the British version a slightly deeper flavour. In the UK, the iconic bottle is well known to consumers for both its shape, and also the orange and black label. In 2005 a new advertising campaign was launched for Lea & Perrins, and helped the brand achieve its best performance for a number of years.

Lea & Perrins have produced a table sauce which is thicker; richly flavoured sauce with a generous helping of the traditional Worcester Sauce added for that extra flavour. It has a very dark red/brown colour once squeezed out of the bottle, I do strongly recommend that you put a small dollop on your finger before applying to your meal. As it is a strong flavouring sauce with a true kick of Worcester sauce… mmm, Great for those who love a tangy taste on there taste buds. I have to say I cant believe it has took me this long to have tried it as I am a fan on Worcester sauce, and now I can have the extra kick with my dinners !. Lea & Perrins Tomato & Worcester sauce could go with any meal you wish to eat. Best on Beef burgers like we all had today but also on other foods like, Sausage rolls, pies, chips, sausages, and vegetarian burgers.
Today it was a complete hit with everyone who came to my BBQ, especially the male side - splashing it on there steaks. I personally had it with a Vegetarian burger and it went a treat, and my little boy even got in on the action by having a dollop on the side for his beef burger, not one drop was left by him. On a whole I think it was a hit and very much worth the pennies to buy. This will now be a regular at my house not only for the BBQ’s but also the Dinner table.

Advantages: the taste Disadvantages: huband says i cant have it on everything :(

Next is the smell. It smells almost the same as Worcester sauce but maybe a little sweeter. You can smell the vinegar and it smell a bit spicey.
Now for taste. If you put a little on your finger and pop that in your mouth you get the full undisguised flavour. Its quite strong, peppery and sweet. The tomato flaver is there but not overpowering. After doing this test I was concerned it would overpower the food.

Again I put a little pool on the side and smeared each loaded fork full. It really enhanced the flavour of the meat and added a nice kick to my hot buttered spuds too. Now Im addicted, Hubby turned his nose up the other day when he lovingly served my steak dinner (he does most of the cooking) and I had sauce with that too!! It was lovely!!
I have even used it as an additive in my cooking. ...

Quick review of Lea & Perrins Tomato and Worcester Table Sauce
This sauce is fantastic. Any other tomato sauce is tasteless after this. The real problem about this sauce is finding a retailer. My wife has done the rounds and there are plenty of tomato sauces from all round the world but not this one on the shelves. That includes the big chain stores who seem not to have heard of it.
Lea & Perrin have a major marketing and distribution problem to solve. ...

...going shopping today and I'll try a few supermarkets before I ring Lea and Perrins to find out the fate of this amazing product. I will post any results on here, but i fear that they have stopped making this product, if so i'll have to try making it myself. ...
