Disadvantages Disadvantages difficulty downloading software to connect to home pc, eats batteries

Toys are getting more and more like adult gadgets, with the must have toy for Christmas, 2011, the LeapPad Explorer, being no exception. The LeapPad, as the name implies, is a junior version of hand held tablets like the iPad aimed at the 4-9 year old market. My 3 and a half year old was bought a LeapPad for Christmas, and has taken to the technology like a baby takes to drinking milk. This system with its touch screen technology is very intuitive for even a small child to get their head round. My son had not asked for this toy, but when my mum asked what she could buy him for Christmas, I ... more

We bought our daughter a LeapPad for her 4th birthday and it has been an absolute hit. It uses 4 AA batteries, we have been using duracell rechargeable batteries, which are well worth investing in. You get a fair amount of time out of the batteries, our rechargeables have now paid for themselves several times over. Our 4 year old daughter got to grips straight away with the LeapPad, I think this was helped along by the fact she had worked out how to use my touchscreen mobile. The pet game that is included is really good where they even have to wash the pet by selecting the water, then the soap ... more

I bought the LeapPad Explorer from Boots for my son's 4th birthday. It cost £79.99 and is suitable for children aged 4-9 years old. We got the green coloured one but it's also available in pink. I was drawn to this straight away because we've had a lot of LeapFrog products before and they've always been very good. It's also compatable with other Explorer games which was a huge bonus for us as it saves buying the same games again. It uses 4 AA batteries, which I thought was fine, but later discovered it eats them like mad so we decided to buy some decent rechargeable batteries. The LeapPad has ... more

We bought this for our 2 year old son back in October for a Christmas present. It may have been a little advanced for him but as he was already beginning to use the touch screen on my mobile phone we though he would struggle with the interface on this product. This is a tablet style PC billed as for being for children between 4 and 7 but as my lad is a little ahead of himself. We what can I say, he absolutely adores his leap pad it goes everywhere with him, even to bed. The touch screen menus are very easy to use and he has had no trouble in getting access to the pre-loaded games and ... more

If you are looking for an educational game for your child, you might want to try LeapFrog. Not only is it highly educational but also interesting. It is likely to hold your child’s attention. At least my son is very happy with it. In fact, he seems to have gotten addicted to it. Manufactured by LeapFrog Hops, the LeapPad Explorer Tablet is suitable for children between 4 to 7 years. It is a fairly good device to help kids with their studies. It is a great tool for the holistic development of your kids. If you want to make education interesting for your kid, buy the tablet.
