I happened upon Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dehumidifier completely by accident, a girlfriend of mine left a bottle at my house after my hen night and as she lives in Cardiff she told me i could keep it ! BARGAIN!
I decided to check the product out first though, i know it was free but what exactly was it or what did it do?
The bottle is not very informative, it tells you that it helps keep your hair poker straight when ... ...use, nope, nothing other than Lee telling us that it is a magical product, i am to spray from half an arms length all over my hair before excercise , clubbing, before bed and before facing the world, "it is an umbrella from frizz....abracadabra"

I am cursed with THE most thick, un-manageable hair EVER, no...really, i have to work hard when i go out to make it look like it's been disciplined and controlled when really it's the rebel of the hair world! I am the proud owner of what can only be described as hair that acts like a teenager, it's well behaved at times like bed time, when i have the flu and when i'm giving birth, when surprise surprise no-one will see me, on the other hand times like going clubbing, job interviews and getting married is when my gorgeous hair will throw a strop, refuse to co-operate and decide to make my life a living hell! (my hairdresser nearly gave up on my wedding day, it took all my negotiating skills to stop him from putting my hair up in a scrunchie!)
I have also cursed my daughters with my hair, Olivia (7) is beautiful and does have thick glossy brown hair which most of the time is tied up and plaited but recently she has decided she wants to start wearing it down, her hair did the same as mine, rebelled. Right...i have the answer! Do hair as normal....then spray it all over!!! WOO-HOO! i Can do that!
Ok, the can is the spray kind, bright, girly pink with a picture of a Staffordshire bull terrier template with Lee Stafford's name underneath, you can get many different products which you can find on Lee's website. My product is called Poker Straight Dehumidifier, it smells sweet and like a toned down hairspray, it reminds me of perfume but the hairdresser smell is still there, i like it and i want my hair to smell of it! It contains some weird and wonderful ingredients :- Butane, Cyclomethicone, Propane, Isobutane, Alcohol Denat, Dimethicone (this kinda reminds me of a dinosaur), Parfum (i reckon this is perfume you know!) Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linaloot, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol..... O.k ....10 points to ANYONE who understands any of that cos i bloomin' well don't, aslong as it doesn't say 'essence of endangered tiger' then i s'pose it's groovy baby!
Anyway, i'm gonna try and give you a little bit of info about Lee Stafford before i go into how wonderful the product actually is!
Lee Stafford's an Essex boy, he became Mens British hairdresser of the year in 1998, he writes for magazines and appears on telly (thats where i recognize him from) you may remember recently for children in need he helped raise £18,300,392 with celebrity scissorhands which i think is groovy! His products do not contain ingredients that have been tested on animals neither is the finished product which is a big must for me!
Right on to the actual product! I washed my hair, dried it, straightened it and styled it then i sprayed Poker straight all over my hair. It smells really sweet and doesn't make you cough or pull your lips in like hairsprays do, my hair looked a touch wet when i finished but that didn't last long. To be honest with you the smell totally reminded me of a visit to the hairdresser and it doesn't fade either, even in a smoky pub when i put my nose to my hair i could smell it, which wasn't offensive. The bottle promised to keep my hair poker straight but i was expecting at every trip to the loo's to fish in my bag for a hair band to tie it up, when i dance i get sweaty which makes my hair limp and lank and slightly moist (Mmmmmm) but this never happened, ok it looked a little skewiff but nothing like it usually is at 1am after bopping for 3 hours! I was chuffed, my makeup was fading fast but hy hair looked brill! Unfortunately it rained for the walk home and we all got soaked so i don't know how i would have looked at 4am, i'm off out again Sat night so i'll see if it works then! Olivia was the real test, she starts school at 8.50 and is not home then till 3pm, unlike me Olivia has her hair done once a day then leaves it whereas i will fiddle with hairbands, comb it and try to control it all throughout the day. I washed her hair in the morning and blow dried it, she wanted it down with her fringe up in kirby grips, she has quite long hair and lots of it so i brushed it then sprayed the Poker straight all over, she giggled and said it felt funny, she liked the smell as did Amber who wanted some on her hair too! She ran her hand down the back of her hair and commented that it felt "nice and soft" probably due to he recent washing it had, but she was happy with the result and i will admit it looked in very good condition, off to school she went! When i picked her up at 3pm the Kirby grips had gone (they never stay in) but her hair still looked straight, not wind swept like it usually looks after a school day, remember Olivia is 7 she plays roughly with the other kids, they go out in all conditions and the girls especially like to play hairdressers so her hair looked just fab, i've never found anything like this before, it works, i'm usually really scepticle about stuff like this but it works!!!!
The only downpoint's really are the price, at £4.99 for a 200ml bottle i found it expensive so it won't be on my shopping list much even though it does work and the fact i had to go on the website to find out how to use it was a bit silly too, they should put directions on the side of the bottle! Other than that i found it a great product to keep bad tempered hair under control.
If you fancy a frizz-free day and fancy being Dehumidified then go for this...ABRACADABRA....teenage bad attitude has left the building!

...spray wax turned up the Lee Stafford product. I have to admit that I've always been tempted to try his products (mainly due to the funky packaging, shallow I know) but as they are quite pricey, couldn't justify when I could get similar products cheaper.
However, as this was the only spray wax I could find, I thought I'd give it a try. I bought it from the Boots, for £4.49 which I think is the average retail price. It comes in an eyecatching hot ... ...using wax in a spray form was very appealing as I don't have the patience or inclination to stand and fiddle around with a pot of wax every morning.
The can says that the wax is 'amazing on short to long, straight to curly hair.' The instructions on the back are quite limited, but it's basically common sense on how to apply.
The wax is very light, with a slightly fruity scent. It's not unpleasant or over powering, and leaves your hair smelling ...
