Lego Barraki Pump Action Water Gun

Advantages: None that I can think of
Disadvantages: Bad instructions, takes ages to construct, doesn't work well, lots of effort for minimal results

...with construction instructions. There are about 7 parts to the pump and you have to construct it yourself after washing it in soapy water and sterilizing it by boiling the parts for 3 minutes. Instructions advise not to put it in the microwave for sterilization as this ruins some of the more fragile parts. I found the instructions less than helpful as the photograph of a constructed pump and the actual key are on different pages so I had to keep flicking between pages to make sure I had the correct piece. The parts are mostly cheapish plastic. Constructing the pump took me about 15 minutes (not because I am thick :) ) but because like another reviewer has said, the parts often do not click into place properly or the suction effect does not work effectively which means dismantling the pump and reconstructing it to see if you can find where... Advantages: Hours of fun
Disadvantages: You actually HAVE to let kids play with it :(

..."Pump up the action – what can you see Oodles of Play-Doh squashing and squiggling right before your eyes." That is what it says on the box anyway, and it does just that! As far as I am concerned you cannot go wrong with this stuff, and I am 29. My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday, the box says that the set is 3+ I think this is more to do with the accessories than the actual doh. Of course, all other presents were forsaken and this had to be opened immediately. After about 30 seconds of assembly the play began, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The smell is the same wonderful scent that takes you right back to playschool and the texture is soft and pliable and in fact, the best stress reliever ever. ...people have different tastes ~Packaging~ The packaging depends on the product, for certain products like Duplo or the boxes full of normal bricks the package is a strong place sand castle style bucket (with lid), but for box sets it's generally some cheap thin cardboard. This appears to be strong though. ~Value for dosh~ Well...... I would say it's quite expensive, but it's hard to compare saying they appear to be the only one in the field. I know people spend around £30 for sets such as the police station and £6 for an individual 'Lego Racer' car. This does seem somewhat extortionate saying it only costs them a few pence to make. ~Conclusion~ Anyone know a child without Lego? No. Lego is a classic toy like Barbie or Action Man every child (or adult) will use. It is expensive, yet fun, and wastes hours of your time... Read review
