Chess made fun for kids

Advantages: Teaches kids to solve problems
Disadvantages: Hard to get them off the PC

Lego is a firm favourite in my house and it has been for years, it's probably one of the few toys that allow all my kids age ranging from 4-11 occupied at the same time together! In recent years Lego have diversified from their original building blocks and have used their quality brand to expand in to many other areas including PC games. Lego Chess is a good example how the Lego reputation has managed to make a traditional game like chess more accessible to a younger and more computer addicted generation of kids. THE GAME I'm not going to go into detail about chess except to say that it is one of the best strategy board games ever invented and it has stood the test of time. Review of Lego - Lego Chess

A disappointing return for the Lego Games...

Advantages: bat vehicles, some nice puzzles, good visuals
Disadvantages: nostalgia-free, poor A.I.

I loved the Lego Star Wars games so when it came to Lego Batman, something I love just as much as Star Wars, I wanted to grab it as quickly as possible. However, I do know my bit about Batman so my expectations were high when it came to the look and feel of the game. Luckily Travellers Tales have set the bar high and with the right amount of humour and clever game design, Lego Batman is a great game for anyone to play - even if they don't love Batman. When I shoved the disc into my Xbox, I first noticed that the games theme is a lot darker than the previous. Where the previous games had been quite light-hearted, Gotham City is treated as a far darker place. This is not to say that that it is there isn't humour, it's just it's not as obvious as before. A brilliant brick set from Lego Duplo

Advantages: superb collection of bricks
Disadvantages: I am a bit old to play with them on my own

I am playing with the children?s toys again, this time the Duplo brick set 5572 . I expect most of you know what a duplo brick is. Just in case you do not, Duplo bricks are made by Lego. Duplo bricks are twice the length, height and width of traditional Lego brick. But they are compatible, will join onto Lego bricks.
