Oh dear....more destruction than construction - a lego "miss"...

Advantages: if you like dozers you will like this
Disadvantages: poor design

This is a new release from Lego in the City range, and is priced at about the £20 mark, though I was able to buy it for £14.99 from Tesco Homeplus, which seemed like a good price for a set with 352 pieces and 100 stage construction. I have to say straight away that having made and played with this set, our family verdict on this bulldozer is "disappointing". We really wanted to like this bulldozer but it had a number of problems. What's good? To start with the positive, in the box you get a good range of pieces, including a mini-figure and also some technics pieces to make the tread for the tyres. The instruction book is quite daunting at first, but they have broken it down into 3 stages of construction and all the pieces are in three bags, which is a good idea as you don't have to sort through lots of little bits ...

Review of Lego City 7685 Bulldozer

To the Bat cave in our Lego mobile

Advantages: Good graphics, good theme
Disadvantages: Awful music, easy, repetitive

character to use it is easy to progress and solve the relevant issues to complete the level. Graphics *********** The graphics are actually really good. They are simple, colourful and vivid - just like being in the comic book (except in lego) so I think Warner Bros has achieved what they set out to in this regard. Playability *********** The controls are very easy to use. The directional pad controls the characters and the buttons are used to jump, build the lego ladders/levers etc, pull levers down and punch the bad guys. The stylus is only used to pull down levers and drawbridges although this can be done using one of the buttons. During the game you get to drive the Bat Mobile, which is very difficult to control. In addition the speed increases and it all becomes a bit frenzied. They are pointless levels since all you ...

Review of Lego Batman (Nintendo DS)

Lego City Police Station - 7744 - Great addition to lego fans!

Advantages: Assembly in stages, easy to follow for older children/adults
Disadvantages: Base a bit floppy for moving the police station around

My son got this Lego City Police Station for his 8th birthday. We paid £48.89 from Argos for it. It took me and my husband quite a while to help my son build it. But the end result was great. It comes in one box. Within the box are smaller bags. All the bags are numbered and all have a booklet inside for the particular part of the police station/vehicle. None of the items were missing, there were a few bits over though, which come in handy for the lego box! It is really easy to follow (for an adult), but I don't think my 8 year old would have had the knowledge or patience to build it himself. Some children his age probably could, but I'd say any child would probably need a bit of help from an adult. I think it's quite nice to have adult and child building something together anyway, so this isn't a disadvantage in my eyes! My ...
