4 Stars Harry Potter in bricks! Review with images 20/06/2011

Advantages Advantages Fun, addictive, cleverly made and humourous at times.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Difficulty level, discrepencies with books, more simplistic than other versions of the game

As many of you probably already know I am little more that an overgrown child and have somewhat of a fascination for Harry Potter. This game therefore caught my eye immediately and as soon as I saw it I knew that I needed it (yes, I also have a rather fluid definition of need!). Granted, I've never had a massive interest in lego, but even that appealed to the childish side of me! In retrospect I probably shouldn't have bought it because it obliterated many hours of my life as I sat glued to my gameboy! Normally I have a fairly short attention span and switch between games, but I was absolutely ... more

5 Stars Lego harry potter years 1-4 Review with images 06/09/2012
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages comical video clips, it's lego, sticks to the books/film, great gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages there isn't any jump buttons

I'm somewhat of a Harry Potter fanatic, browsing through some DS games I was torn between buying the normal version of harry potter or the funny Lego version of Harry potter, having never played a Lego game before I decided to go ahead and purchase this one. Stupid me at first bought this for the 3DS. Since I only have a normal DS I took this back and had to buy the DS version. This cost me £15 in used condition. I usually flit between games when I'm bored or just fancy playing something new or different but this game had me hooked for a full week until I completed it with all achievements ... more

I would like to point out at the beginning of this review than I am not a massive gamer. I own only a small handful of DS games, and am not clued up with all the terminology. This review will not be filled with jargon! I am simply a fan of Harry Potter wishing to share my thoughts on this game with other Harry Potter fans. If you are looking for a review filled with technical drivel, please read another review, as I cannot cater to such services. I love the Nintendo Lego series. There are so many different options, but as a Harry Potter fan, it was only natural for me to go for this one. It ... more

Advantages Advantages Follows a popular story, Allows multiple profiles, Challenging to reach 100% achievement!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not suitable for experienced gamers, Requires patience¬

I am not an experienced or "hardcore" gamer like many people are but enjoy playing games occasionally on my Nintendo DS. Lego Harry Potter in my opinion is a very good game for all ages. It is simple enough for children yet there are enough challenges to amuse teenagers and adults aswell. The game involves collecting many items; some of which are straightforward but many are intricately hidden to challenge you. The game as a whole is split into the first 4 years of Harry Potter and I believe it follows the plot as well as possible for such a game. Each Year has many levels or chapters within ... more

Advantages Advantages fun, long game, customization characters

Disadvantages Disadvantages confusing at times, not as good as other versions of the game

I bought this game quite a while ago, but have only just completed it. I was impressed with the length of the game which lasted much longer than other popular DS games I have played. The game is split into four sections each representing a different book in the Harry Potter series, however I noticed that the first two books have a much longer amount of game play and more levels than the last two. I was slightly disappointed by this as it felt as though more effort had been put into the first two sections of the game. Having said this I still really enjoyed the game and liked the option of ... more
