Advantages: Fun to assemble, finished product looks good, not expensive Disadvantages: Not many spares included in the box
I do like Lego (though I am getting a little old..) and was pleased to have gotten this set in my stocking from Santa! This set is from the 'MarsMission' series brought out by Lego which consists of lots of wonderful space things, but the particular set I got was the MX-11 Astro Fighter. It is set number 7695.
The set consists of an astro fighter and 2 mini figures. The astro fighter is predominately white but has a see-through orange door and some orange bits on the wings. You have to assemble the astro fighter yourself out of lego pieces. The 2 mini figures in the set are a pilot and a green alien. I especially like the alien, he is green and see-through and is quite cute!
The instruction book is very easy to follow and has pictures clearly showing the steps to make your lego. There is not much room for confusion at all. There ...
Advantages: Sturdy, well made, bright and attractive trike Disadvantages: Needs a lot of pressure to steer using parent handle, plaque bangs against child's nose
Thomas the Tank Engine has been a firm favourite with little boys (and girls!) for generations and my youngest son is another firm fan, singing along to the TV theme tune and possessing a range of books, toys and other merchandise emblazoned with images of Thomas and his friends. It seemed a natural choice to treat him to a Thomas trike for his second birthday, combining his love of all things Thomas related with his desire to be on wheels and keep up with his big brother!
This particular trike is manufactured by MV Sports and seems to be of very good quality and not too badly priced. Prices vary from around the £40-£50 but I found the cheapest method was to purchase it from Littlewoods online and take advantage of a rather generous new customer discount code which knocked £25 off the price.
The trike comes boxed and in pieces ...
Advantages: Great cast, De Palma's creative camerawork, and the overall sense of considered quality Disadvantages: First half of the film is a bit dull in places, possibly too laid-back for modern-day audiences
Panned by the critics, and sunk at the box-office by audience apathy, this latest movie from Brian De Palma wouldn't appear to have an awful lot in its favour. How surprising, then, to at least discover it's far from a worthless catastrophe.
Mission To Mars will never go down in cinematic history as a groundbreaking, or even particularly memorable, entry in the Sci-fi genre. An all-too-predictable opening 30 minutes, where dialogue is woefully cliched and a lack of dramatic pace almost stalls the entire project before it's begun to get to where it so obviously plans to go, sees to that. Yet, come the closing reel, the expected sensation of relief it's over is nowhere to be found : Mission To Mars turns out not to be a protracted endurance test of patience after all.
Deliberately eschewing the more contemporary approach of quick ...
