INTRODUCTION
The largest and possibly most amazing LEGO Star Wars set EVER has arrived !!!
That's right, the largest LEGO Star Wars Set ever ... and with over 5000 pieces and an instruction manual that makes an Argos Catalogue look like a "quick read" the Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon is simply "AWESOME" !!!
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Millennium Falcon has become the stuff of legend and is one of the most well known spaceships in movie history. Which is kind of strange when you think that the modified Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 freighter was first described as being "junk" by Luke Skywalker !!! Infact Han Solo's infamous spaceship may have been the fastest ship in the Galaxy but it wasn't exactly the most reliable either (can you remember how many times it broke down in the movies ?). Anyway, just like Han Solo, the Millennium Falcon has a certain charm and the ship became an iconic part of the Star Wars success story.
THE ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S MILLENNIUM FALCON
The word "ultimate" is often used but is rarely used this accurately ... because this set is simply awesome !!! LEGO had previously released two other Millennium Falcon Sets but neither were of the scale and size of this one. It looks amazing and the attention to detail is extraordinary. The bodywork, the engines, the weapons, the radar dish, the landing gear and the cockpit are almost movie accurate. One thing that struck me was the fact that many scale models of the Millennium Falcon [with premoulded pieces] don't look this good ... and yet this set is created using only Lego Bricks !!!
I say "only Lego Bricks" but there are, however over 5000 of them and the instruction manual makes an Argos Catalogue look like a quick read !!!
It is estimated that to build this set it will take 18 hours but that is if you are an experienced Lego Junkie ... in reality it takes a lot longer and you need to painstakingly sort through bag after bag of bricks to find the right bits. Also if space is an issue then this set is one to avoid ... at almost three feet long and over 10kg heavy it isn't the most easiest Lego Set to build and store.

SUMMARY
This set looks awesome, is fun to build and really would be an impressive centrepeice to any Star Wars collection. The attention to detail is stunning and the size and scale of the completed ship really does take your breath away. It is also the largest [and most impressive looking] Star Wars Lego set out there ... so the word "ultimate" really does mean "better than the rest" !!!
At around £350, however, it really should only be bought for [or by] a serious Star Wars collector. With over 5000 pieces this is not something you want to see half built on your child's bedroom floor ! Also despite it's cost ... the size and weight of the Millennium Falcon mean that it does have a tendancy to be easily damaged [it is after all a model made up from hundreds of tiny Lego bricks]. So this is more of a collector's display piece rather than a toy.
