Leica S1

Advantages: from Studio direkt to CMYK, superior image quality
Disadvantages: thetered camera, needs continuous light

This is Leica´s very first selfmade digital camera. With the LEICA S 1 Pro, Leica Camera, Solms, has managed to further increase the imaging quality and productivity of the digital studio camera. This increase in performance is achieved with a remarkable sensor which results in a maximum data quality at a high signal to noise ratio. This has a4-fold increase in light sensitivity, meaning that even critical photographic situations at low levels of illumination can be handled more effectively. The photographer can use the modeling light of his or her existing studio flash equipment for taking the shots, for instance. The new sensor - including Binning and Anti-flicker - provides a 14 Bit signal for red, green and blue colours which is processed in a 16 bit data path. This results in clean colours without noise or blooming. All ...

Review of Leica S1 Pro

HD pictures without monthly subsrciptions

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, intuitive epg, easy setup
Disadvantages: None

regional channels (such as ITV and BBC). After storing the channels you can view the full epg listings or show a quick list of all available channels by pressing the ok button. This shortcut button also shows which channels are available in HD by means of a small red HD logo at the side of the channel name. The epg is very well laid out and makes Sky's epg look very outdated (as is to be expected after 10 years). The remote is by no means a design classic, but is fairly well built and does the job intended. Picture quality on both ITV HD and BBC HD is amazing considering you have no montly outlay after purchasing the box. It is also worth noting that ITV HD is not available on the Sky HD Platform, although some would argue it is not a proper channel as it doesn't have it's own epg listing and is only accessible by pressing the red ...

Freeview HD

Advantages: Good quality reception, plenty of channels avalible
Disadvantages: Expensive, limited HD channels so far

with it is the limted HD reception, admitedly it does look a lot better than normal digital. But it may just be the area i am in but i only have 1 dedicated HD channel. The rest have to be found by using the red button on the normal show. And even then the only HD tv seems to be football or tennis, admitedly for me it is not a bad thing. Im sure the variety can only get better though. Maybe doesn`t justify the expensive but is a solid all round freeview box. ...
