Divine diamond diva nails!

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: none!

When I bought this I felt as though i was making a rather extreme purchase, I mean, spending £10 on one single nail varnish is not something which I can usually justify but I was feeling rather daring and so decided to just giveit a go as I had heard some really good reviews of this brand and wanted to treat myself. My husband was not so impressed but even he admitted that my nails looked good, hopefully he wasn't just saying this to please me! The bottle The bottle holds 12ml and looks very professional. It's bottle is square and modern-looking as it's very shiny with the glass bottom and the glass screw-on lid. The silver nail varnish inside looked really shiney and looked much more professional and attractive than the other brands I tend to stick to which are half the price! So at least the look of the bottle appeared ...

Advantages: Longlasting, great colours

shimmer', to go over the top. Now I first tried 'Butterfly Wings' in the evening under artificial light and I was a bit unsure about the colour. I'm not keen on gold coloured nail varnishes and like my French to look bright and crisp. Although this wasn't gold, I could see the sheer peach colour, yet it also had a blueish/purple tinge to it. This sounds odd but the blue tint makes the pink part of your nail look bright and healthy and ultimately, for me, this outshines the peachiness which I'm less keen on. There are two important things about Leighton Denny which, for me make this the perfect French manicure - 1. No more faffing about with stickers, or painting a white tip on then removing it umpteen times when it just won't go on properly. 2. It lasts for days and days, literally. I was never any good with the stickers ...

Review of Leighton Denny French Collection

Pleasantly surprised by the Sisal Buffer

Advantages: Cheap enough to replace, gentler than it looks but still effective
Disadvantages: Doesn't stand up to long-term vigorous use

In a loose sense, I bought this via advertising - my family went on holiday for a fortnight, my sister brought a friend and this friend had purchased one of these buffers to use on holiday. I thought it looked interesting. For £1.95, you get an oval pad with a thin light foam base, sandwiched between a cream towelling material on the underside and a "ship's rigging" patterned grid of what looks like very thin ropes of sisal. An elasticated strap on the underside (although I find this of limited use when using it) is well sewn in. You can use it with or without body wash - probably wet or dry, too. It's not as rough on the skin as it looks. It makes your skin feel a bit smoother (but is not as effective on small areas as, say, a body scrub with granules), invigorated and slightly softer - gentle enough for daily use. Surprisingly these ...
