I use to work the grave yard shift and was the one that not only made sure that all of the new promotional stock was on the shelf, but I had to make sure that all of the displays with the latest products were in place. One night after store hours I had to set up a Revlon pedicure display and found myself quite intrigued with the possibilities because of the picture on the box. My brother always said that I had Flintstone feet and I was never proud of them because of the foot surgery that I had on them. C'est Chic

Advantages: Longlasting, great colours

• Does a French manicure that you've done yourself look a bit rough when viewed close up and does it only last a day or two at most? • Have you tried most brands and found them all to be pretty similar? My answer to those questions was 'yes'. I was less than impressed by many of the cheaper nail products on the market, particularly for French manicures and so splurged money on professional brands in the hope that they'd be easier to use and last longer without chipping. Whilst some were better than others, most did not justify their steeper price tag and it was easier not to bother. Many would agree that a French manicure lasts less well than a self-colour and who wants to spend ages trying to get it to look good, for it to chip the next day? Leighton Moss Nature Reserve

Advantages: Lots of Wildlife, Unique Habitat
Disadvantages: Admission Charges For Non RSPB Members

Leighton Moss is an area of extensive reed beds and salt marshes near Morecambe in Lancashire. It is the largest remaining habitat of its type in the north west of England and the whole site is owned and managed by the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds). I have some very fond memories of this Nature Reserve as a young Child, when my Parents used to bring me here en route to our holidays in the Lake District. This vast expanse of reed beds was always something magical to me, with its footpaths that cut between these reeds, which at over ten feet high must have appeared huge when I was so small. In later life I have visited similar habitats in Norfolk and Suffolk and especially around the Norfolk Broads but when I first started to come here this type of vegetation was unique to me.
