LENOR INFUSIONS BLACK DIAMOND AND LOTUS FLOWER
I recently did a Ciao survey for Lenor, from which I was chosen to test out a new product as yet not on the market. I received an email from the company saying that the item was on its way. A short while later my product arrived in the post beautifully boxed in a very classy black flower embossed gift box with Lilies upon. All it said on the front is Will you? In white lettering. It actually arrived on my Birthday and I thought it was a present from my Husband. On opening the box I found a letter with "Will you be seduced?" written upon the envelope. On opening the letter read: "You are the first"… It went on to say. "Dearest, the wait is over. New Lenor Infusions 'Black Diamond and Lotus Flower' is yours to try. First impressions are everything. Savour the luxurious fragrance created by perfumiers. Sink into the sumptuous softness made famous by Lenor…But don't forget to share. From the allure of your very first encounter to the effect of the enticing fragrance on others - as one of the very first to experience 'New Lenor Infusions we want you to tell all. Look. Touch. ** ~ BLACK DIAMOND AND LOTUS FLOWER ~ **
The box also contained a perfumed hanger card which smelt of the Black Diamond and Lotus Flower, which was a gorgeous fragrance, also a book full of money off vouchers for the new product which will be out sometime in March. I noticed on the back of the display box that it was recyclable and it gave a website address of facilities for just this purpose at www.recyclenow.com. On pulling away the black tissue, the product was revealed. It was an expensive looking bottle of Lenor in a black container. Sashed across the middle of the bottle was a plastic strip with the words Lenor in white, against the black background colour. Beneath this was an open white lotus flower sitting beside a sparkling diamond, and to complete the picture the bottle is finished off with a complimentary silver lid. It really does look very stylish. The container is the standard shape and size as the traditional Lenor, so it will still be easy to spot sitting upon the supermarket shelves. It stated that it was a concentrate and the weight of 750ml.
To the reverse of the bottle was written "Indulge your senses with the Infusions collection from Lenor and Bold 2 in 1." "Be seduced by the crisp, elegant fragrance and sumptuous softness of Lenor Black Diamond and Lotus Flower". The bottle looked expensive and exotic. It seemed strange to see a fabric softener in a black container, but it somehow works and adds to the intriguing look of the product. Normally I would associate a clothes conditioner to be in a pale, soft coloured bottle, but I think the black bottle is going to be a strong selling point, as well as the new fragrance. I'm not too sure what Lenor are going to charge for this product, but it looks by the container that it may cost a little more than the standard Lenor. Their new exciting range comes in the following Infusions. The fragrance which I tested for them, being the Black Diamond and Lotus Flower, Ruby Jasmine, Sapphire Violet and Amethyst Rose. All really evocative names I think and well chosen by the company. Being a concentrate you only need to use a capful of this product when adding it to your wash. I always feel that this isn't enough softener and I tend to always put a little more than is recommended. But Lenor assures us on the bottle that this amount is in fact enough to freshen and soften any size of load of when washing, It tells us on the bottle what amounts to use for various types of washing, i.e.: Handwashing, half load or full load, and the cap is designed for just this purpose. So functionality, economy, and ease of use are well catered for all round.
**~ THE FRAGRANCE ~ **
The amazing thing about the new Infusions is the incredible smell as I mentioned earlier. It was created by perfumiers and is apparently a closely guarded secret as to what ingredients are contained. All four fragrance are unique to Lenor, and are as individual and contempory in keeping with this new range image. When I first took the cap off from the bottle I was amazed at the smell which rose from the Lenor. All their product fragrances are really nice, but this was something a bit special. I normally use Lenor and I think my last purchase was a special offer from the co-op 2 for #2.00, I think it was. I don't think other clothes softeners have the depth of smell that Lenor has, or the lovely scents. I have tried home brands and all sorts, but I always seem to return to Lenor. Anyway this fragrance has quite a strong smell. A deeply exotic floral and musk scent. I absolutely adore it, although it may be somewhat overpowering for people who don't like a strong smell, and obviously the smell does linger in your clothes after drying. I put some towels on the radiator to dry, and the perfume of the Black Diamond and Lotus Flower filled the whole house with its stunning fragrance.
I also wouldn't say this was a particularly masculine smell, but then what clothes softener is. I think you just have to be aware that this new range has a stronger depth of fragrance than the standard Lenor, and therefore will stay within the fibre of the clothing for quite a few days. My towels still smell quite lovely with the fragrance still potent almost a week on now. I must admit that normally I prefer the sea breeze type of scent for a clothes freshener and softener, but this is just so different that it has totally captured my imagination, and I will eventually try the three others in the Infusions range, Ruby Jasmine, Sapphire Violet and Amethyst Rose, when my present Black Diamond and Lotus Flower has run out.-
How the Infusions and other softeners work is by infusing with the water, and penetrating the fibre of the clothes. The result to the fabrics after using the softeners is that it makes the clothes nice and soft and fluffy to the touch. The fabric softeners also contain properties to make garments anti-static. I remember how hard some of my clothes used to be before using clothes softeners, particularly if drying them on the radiator. They would feel a bit rough to the touch. Particularly in a hard water area which I happen to live in. It tends to make softeners less effective. But in Lenors case this doesn't appear to be so. So all in all Lenor works really well for me. The Lenor Black Diamond and Lotus Flower is a white liquid, with the running consistency of milk I thought it might actually be a dark grey when seeing the first impression of the black container, so I was quite pleased that Lenor stuck to a traditional colour associated with clothes softeners, as a darker colour simply would not have worked.
**~ MY OPINION ~ **
Well I have to say I loved the new Infusions Black Diamond and Lotus Flower. I thought the fragrance was absolutely gorgeous as I like strong floral/musk fragrances. The Infusions made my clothes fluffy and soft whilst giving them a deep lasting smell of exotic flower. As the fragrance is a guarded secret I am not sure what the ingredients are, but I do know they fragrances have been created by a French perfumier.
