Advantages: GREAT SLEEK DESIGN + REASONABLE PERFORMANCE + GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY Disadvantages: BATTERY LIFE COULD BE BETTER!!!!
...GREAT LAPTOP, IN THE WAY IT LOOKS WITH IT'S SLEEK DESIGN, AND QUALITY FEEL, EASE OF USE AND PERFORMANCE. AS STANDARD MEMORY IT HAS 512 MB OF RAM WHICH CAN BE EXPANDED TO 1024 MB IF NEEDED. PERFORMANCE CAN BE A LITTLE SLOW AT TIMES, BUT THAT IS ONLY DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF PROGRAMS YOU USE AT THE SAME TIME. BATTERY LIFE IS REASONABLE, ONLY LASTING 3 HOURS MAXIMUM, BUT IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR PORTABILITY. THE CLOCK SPEED IS REASONABLE ENOUGH WITH 1.5GHZ, ALSO THE HARD DISK IS A LIITLE SMALL AT 40GB BUT THERE ARE OTHER TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO L10'S WITH LARGER HARD DISKS, BUT IS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. ALL IN ALL IT'S A GREAT LAPTOP, WITH ALOT TO OFFER!!!!!!...

Advantages: Low price Disadvantages: Tiny speakers, Parts used from other makes
...After taking new Lenovo3000 N100 Laptop from showroom, I hardly could use it for 2 hours. The hard disk ( I was surprised to see Lenovo using hard disk from another make) was giving no response.
I took it to IBM service center next working day, the service center people asked me to leave it there and to pick it next day.
Next day I went there to collect the laptop, but they told me they will have to replace the hard disk and they don't have a hard disk in their service center, they need more time, they will call me when my laptop will be fixed.
I am a IT professional, after all these I can not rely on Lenovo and make one my workstation....

Advantages: Reliable, solid, reasonable spec, looks good Disadvantages: Speed, graphics, bit outdated
...Having used this model of Toshiba for general everyday use and work use for about a year now, I would say it is generally a good reliable laptop for this.
Toshiba's are definitely good if you are after reliability and build quality - I have used many different makes of laptop, and not found one that rivals these yet.
The L20 carries a pretty average 1.5GHzceleronM processor, which provides enough power for everyday applications and basic gaming, but will struggle with higher end graphics apps and more intensive gaming. The installed 512MB of memory is not really sufficient nowadays, so recommend an upgrade here to at least 1GB. Finally the graphics - ATI Radeon Xpress 200M - reliable enough for most things and good compatibility, however this does eat up a bit of your system memory and never seems to work as well as nVidia chips...

I bought mine on ebay for £360, I needed it for university study and it's working really well for small documents like word and excel and it will also play some games well, mainly Unreal Tournament online :-)
The disk space of 60GB is plenty for me.... more
After knocking a full cup of tea over my laptop (and destryoing the insides completely) I claimed on my insurance and was sent an Acer Aspire 5315. It costs around £300 to buy in the shops, placing it at the bottom end of the price range for laptops at... more
I for one, absolutely love the look of this acer. The bottom of the laptop just looks really cool, and the top looks ok too. One only criticism on the look, would be that the plastic at the tip of the screen is a little thick, but then again it does have more
Over the past few months my son (14) and my daughter (10) have both become increasingly interested in the computer. They are both very much into BEBO and MSN and my son is using the computer more and more for his schoolwork. This is now causing no end... more
