this laptop is excellent as it looks smart and can be found cheaply, mine is slightly uprated with 2 gb of ram. my laptop is running windows xp pro and it doesn't struggle with basic tasks, however when faced with games the graphics chipset often isn't upto the job. I've had no problems with my laptop so far and the battery lasts plenty long enough, this laptop actually runs fairly cool as well. the keyboard is good for typing on and feels very positive and the mouse pad works well, although i tend to use the little knob mouse in the center of the keyboard as it doesn't require moving your hand. Another good point about this laptop is that it is built very strongly, you can pick it up by the screen and it hardly flexes, mine's survived a few small drops and didn't even turn it's self off. The thinkpad also has a hard drive saving feature which it uses to shut off the hdd when it senses shock.
