...This is a review of the Actiontec wireless-ready Gateway with 1 wired LAN port - the sister-product of the 4-port device shown here. It came with an Actiontec 11 Mbps wireless PC-card in the box.
The gateway has good printed instructions, a straightforward installation CD (which asks if you are installing the 1-port or 4-port device) and colour-coded wires to avoid confusion. The CD does, however, refer to ADSL filters that are different to the ones packaged and makes the task of fitting the filters seem too complicated. Connecting the gateway to a computer with USB and LAN was seamless. It is possible to let the installation program select the settings automatically or to set up the internet connection manually. The automatic set-up worked first time.
