Being my first laser printer I was unsure of what to expect, but obviously with the price increase from ink-jet printers i expected an improvement...and my expectations were definately fulfilled!
The printer is noisy, and takes a minute or two to warm up, but otherwise great for general use. I found it ... ...for a newbie to lasers) and it was up and running within 15mins of opening the box, accessed by all three pcs on my network.
Printouts are fast, and providing the toner cartridges have plenty left in them, excellent quality. I have used the printer for a range of tasks, anything from pdf manuals to family photos, no problems.
The only slight downside is that the printer's built in toner level monitors never seem to read ... more

I found it extreemly straight forward to set up, with good instructions (handy for a newbie to lasers) and it was up and running within 15mins of opening the box, accessed by all three pcs on my network.
Printouts are fast, and providing the toner cartridges have plenty left in them, excellent quality. I have used the printer for a range of tasks, anything from pdf manuals to family photos, no problems.
The only slight downside is that the printer's built in toner level monitors never seem to read quite true..for example all three colours read 60% when in fact its quite clear the toner is low from the print quality. Not a major issue, but something that shouldnt go unmentioned.

...after two calls to the Lexmark call centre, I had a service engineer turn up on my doorstep and within 3 days, a brand new machine was delivered with no problems since. It has a very good quality print and doesn't seem to have any problems taking cardstock up to 250g (though I haven't tried anything heavier). It copes extremely well with the demands of our business and is very fast producing both colour and especially black and white pages.
