...Although primarily delighted with the speed and quality of this well designed, reliable product.
The speed at which the black toner cartridge ran out - nowhere near 4,000 sheets had been used, was disappointing, fortunately I did order a long-life spare as part of the deal.
I have to say the price of the 'cheap' replacements from Lexmark and elsewhere are inclined to make you sit up and take notice.
This all said it is a quick, high quality colour laser writer, far superior to a good many I have come across and at the price provides excellent value for money.
I have to say if you add up the price of the toners as with all Lexmark products your could almost buy a new printer....

The rollers don't work properly, pulling the paper in on an angle and either jamming, reading as paper is out, or wrecking your printing completely. I would not recommend this printer to anyone! I think it is the worst printer that lexmark could have ever made. They should go back to the drawing board and pull the printers before they get a bad reputation based on 1 item. To be honest, I will never buy another lexmark product b/c of my experience with this piece of garbage!!! Too bad I can't get my money back!!!!
It is cheap alright. Definetly costs less then the window I threw the &%$@#$ thing out of!!!!!!...

Advantages: Few if any in value terms Disadvantages: Has crippleware on cartridges which means you can't use all the toner
...Beware - although not mentioned anywhere in the paperwork, this printer has a hidden disable feature on all cartridges.
Our cartridge was still printing fine and indicating toner despite its cripple ware (cripple-your-wallet-ware) showing replacement needed. Suddenly (despite previosu page printing perfectly), the printer cripples itself with no override forcing you to pay for a new very expensive cartridge.
(We didn't even get the opportunity to try to refill as it crippled itself before it even finished the supplied toner. This is the second cartridge to do this. (We opened the second and there was approximately enough toner left for a further 1000 pages!!!)
IN OUR OPINION DON'T TOUCH IT - IT WILL COST YOU A FORTUNE IN REFILLS.
Lexmark support when telephoned In our opinion was worse than useless....

There is very litte, or nothing, practically wrong with this printer. The setup is simple.
However vista users should beware that the disc DOES NOT contain the drivers for windows vista and that they need to be downloaded from the Lexmark website.... more
