Lexmark Z 25 Color Jetprinter

Firstly, this printer is incredibly cheap (I got mine for about £25, and worked out that if I got two ink cartridges free instead of one, then it would worth buying the printer just to get the cartridges as it would be cheaper!) However, I have outlined a few problems with the printer that I would like to bring to the attention of potential buyers:

1. I found that after a while, the drivers for the printer uninstalled themselves. I didn't know why, and have not been able to get to the bottom of the problem since, but I do know that it has never happened to me before with any piece of hardware, and it was certainly very annoying, especially if you have misplaced the CD with the drivers on it!

2. I found that after having the printer for a mere couple of weeks, it failed to respond when I tried to print. I would press the print document button, and the Lexmark printing window came up, but the computer froze up and the printer refused to print, which, needless to say, was incredibly frustrating. Again, I have never encountered this problem with any other printer I have ever had. I was unable to resolve this problem and in the end had to get rid of the printer and buy another because it simply was not doing anything!

Along with these two specific problems, I found that with the Lexmark Z25 printer the quality was not of a particularly high quality, it wasn't very quick and the reliability of the printer was pretty poor. I personally feel that you would be better off spending a little bit more cash and buying a better quality printer, perhaps one of the higher level Lexmarks, an Epson (which I have always found to be of a good quality) or a Hewlett Packard.
