The High Resolution High Yield Color Print Cartridge ensures true photo quality on any paper type combining the 7 picoliter drop size together with the Lexmark unique 1200x1200 resolution! All Lexmark inkjet cartridges have the actual print head, there where the core inkjet technology lies, integrated to the cartridge bottle. The main advantage to having the print head as an integrated part to the cartridge is that Lexmark customers get a new print head with each cartridge replacement! This is each time like getting a brand new printer all over again! No risk of deterioration of the print head (and therefore a decrease in quality) during the life of the printer as can be the case with other manufacturers who integrate the print head as a fixed part inside the printer itself. The High Resolution Standard Yield Color Print Cartridge guarantees photo quality without the need for a photo cartridge. The print head features even smaller nozzle holes that can fire ink drops (7 picoliter) almost invisible to the human eye! For all the color inks Lexmark chooses to use dye-based inks because of their unique ability to create richer and brighter colors, a wider color ink spectrum and light fastness. Lexmark has increased the percentage of dye in its latest generation of inks by 30%. This increase in the amount of dye creates brighter, richer colors that dramatically enhance the quality of prints. Besides the standard yield cartridges, Lexmark offers the high yield cartridges to satisfy the needs of the heavy users. The high yield, high-resolution color cartridges offer the business user additional savings with industry-leading yields and total cost of ownership. This cartridge is designed for the following printers: Samsung SF4700 Series; Samsung SCX1000 Series; Compaq A1000; Compaq IJ1200.
Advantages: You need one to be able to print Disadvantages: THE COST
...I recently purchased a lexmark printer/Copier/scanner for the bargain price of £49.99 (or so I thought).
For a start the cartridges ran out within seven days - nothing new there I hear you say, the only problem is I hardly used the printer in this time and certainly didn't print off reams and reams of rainbows.
So the time came to purchase a new cartridge - to be fair even the fella in the shop was amazed that I was back so soon. Then came the shock part of this tale - the price, £21.99 for a new cartridge, no that's not a typing error it really was TWENTY ONE POUNDS NINETY NINE. I nearly had a heart-attack I can tell you.
That's when it was explained to me, the reason the printer was so cheap in the first place was the cartidges are only a quarter full - not even half. Now comes the rant - how the hell can Lexmark justify...

...Well, what can I say about these cartridges
They are made by Lexmark and either produced in the UK, Philippines or Assembled in Mexico, which is marked on the box, and is suitable for a large number of printers and all-in-one machines.
The box front is White and Red and shows a picture of the cartridge, underneath the Black and Red Lexmark Trademark. The back of the box has information about the “Superior Print Quality” whilst one side of the box contains details about the ownership of the trademarks, copyright and patents. The other side has a list of the printers the cartridge is compatible with these are:-

Advantages: Available at a wide range of outlets Disadvantages: Relatively expensive
...!! No seriously, Z16's retail at a rrp of £23.71 each. Cheaper deals are available (e.g. via http://www. cartridgepeople at £41.98 for two, inclusive of delivery). I usually buy at my local Tesco, paying anything from £18 to £22.
**** Installation? ****
On my Z605 and Z35 - very easy. Lexmark help by coding black cartrides with dark green tops and colour ones with light green. It's just a case of "clicking out" the exhausted cartridge and popping in the new one. The software does the rest. With Lexmark software you have to click on "is it a new cartidge/ has it been used before?" . This has never posed me problems.
**** How do they perform? ***
Well the print quality is excellent. Good definition (I use it mostly for straightforward text). The ink dries quickly, meaning that pages can be handled as soon as they are ejected...
