I am currently working in a legal office. The lawyers, paralegals and secretaries on the four levels above the “I. T. Basement” go through an awfully large amount of paper and know so very little about basic computing and this includes printer maintenance
There is nothing more frustrating that being called away from some complex code because of a paper jam… and when it is the Company Director who is experiencing the printing problems then you certainly can’t tell him to “wait just a minute.”
All the printers (and there are dozens of printers) in the office are Lexmark. The T612 are the newer ones and, to date, they have never misbehaved.
The T612 is solid and reliable. The T612 is quite fast as well and is able to churn out large quantities of paper over an extended period of time without any drop in speed. The T612 has its own memory as well - pretty standard for SPOOLing but the T612 goes beyond that. The memory enhancements this printer can bring come in the area of page formatting. You can, for example, pre-program your company’s letterhead into memory and this will be printed onto any letters you send the printer. This could save your company a fortune on stationary bills - if the firm changes names, a partner leaves or you get a new phone number, you will not have to re order a new bulk pre-printed paper because you simply makes the changes to the T612’s template and carry on as normal.
