Before I start the review itself, I will give a little background as to what this is being compared to in my experience.

First of all, the X1130 is an upgrade from the far inferior Lexmark Z11 printer and a Mustek scanner, which were bought purely because they were cheap at the time. I have used various makes and models of printer, both Inkjet and laser (it would be unfair for me to compare the X1130 to a laser, so I'll just be sticking to the Inkjet comparison.) in the course of both home and work computer use.

My X1130 was bought a couple of weeks ago from Argos for the princely sum of £59.99 (plus approx £10 for a USB cable, but that is more a problem with Argos than the equipment), and it immediately took the place of my old grubby Z11 atop my computer desk, a sleek black and silver printer replacing the old white monstrosity. Getting the system set up was a breeze, even the quick start sheet was unusually simple to follow, and the drivers/control panel are also easy enough to install. The full set up from connecting the cables to printing the print alignment sheet took only approximately 5 minutes.

Printing with the X1130 is straightforward, and the quality of the print is superb ...... far better than my old Z11, and the print speed is at least doubled. Twin print cartridges can be used in the X1130, removing the problem of having to change cartridges every time you need to print something in colour/b & w.

The scanner is excellent as compared to the Mustek I had before, it gives clear and sharp images twice as fast.

As the copier is technically a function of the scanner and the printer together, I don't think there is anything I can say about that area that hasn't already been covered above.

It also came with 3 CDs, one containing the full manual, another with the drivers and control panel (various different ones depending which operating system is used, going through most windows systems up to the lofty heights of Mac OS) and a third containing Photoshop Elements, the little brother to Photoshop which, although it only allows basic photo editing and touch up, is still one of the best on the market today.

In summary, I believe this is one of, if not the best inkjet printer I have had the pleasure to use, and with a price tag of just under £70 (including cable) I would have to say that this is a printer whose price says low end, but performance says high.
