Firstly it looks fantastic, and you can tell this is a more modern one by its cool square shape and shiny plastic panels. But the main thing I like about the design of this, is that it comes in different sections, what I mean by this is that there seems to be three different parts to it, firstly the scanner section at the top, then the paper out section at the bottom, then finally the screen part, this is what has the screen, the buttons and some memory card readers on it. And all of these sections are clearly different cubes and I just think it makes it look a lot cooler and more modern.
This really is a space saving device, you would usually have to have a printer, and a scanner, which would both be around the same size and take up double the space of this one handy device. Also they would take up double the USB ports and even 2 power plugs. So having all these features in one printer is defiantly more efficient and even a lot more energy efficient too.
This does have wi-fi capability, this means you wont have to use wires to print things off from a computer or laptop in your house. However when I tested it out I didn’t get chance to use this, so I couldn’t comment on how easy it is to do, I have however used this capability on other Lexmark’s and I can only imagine they are similar to set up, and if they are, then you would probably have to install the printer first by connecting it through USB, then you would be able to find it when unplugged.
Another amazing feature this printer has, is one that I usually only see in very expensive office printers. It actually has the capability to print of double side of the paper, this can be very handy if you are wanting to save money and save paper too.
This printer is really good for printing photos, not only is its quality great but it also has card slots for direct photo printing and an 2.4 inch LCD screen which gives you the chance ot go through your pictures looking at them and change features about them before you print.
The best thing about this would be that it doesn’t even need a computer to do most things, its one touch button, will photo copy pictures or text at the touch of a button and you wont even need your computer on to do it. Also its direct printing from your camera cards doesn’t need the computer on either, so even if you don’t have a computer but want to be able to print photos off your cameras this is still a great buy.
This printer is also very fast, printing up to 30 pages of black a minute and 27 of colour.
The price of this one does vary a little from place to place but it’s a great printer and you should be able to pick one up for around £100, but probably more from electrical stores. However dear this may sound, it really is as good as a lot of office printers out there, and a lot faster than some too, so it really is cheap for what it is, and for what it can do.
Advantages: speed Disadvantages: screen, or lack of one!
still love how this printer looks, and performs.
It prints super quick managing a maximum of 28 pages a minute of black and white, and around 22 pages a minute of colour printing.
Also the text it prints is really clear and stands out really well against the paper.
When printing photos, the first one I tried I was really disappointed in, however after performing a quick and simple cleaning session on the printer, I then printed it again to find it printed photos amazingly well too.
The main reason not to get this would be its lack of the LCD screen, and this probably would put me off too, so what I really advise is to look for another Lexmark which is a similar price, but with a great LCD screen too, if you want it for photo printing.
Id probably advise something like the LexmarkX8350, or the LexmarkX4850, however saying that, I do ...
