...printer prices have made the Lexmark X75 PrinTrio unit a bargain well what I class as a bargain, it cost me around £50inc delivery and 2 cartridges which cost about the same as this. It copies, scans, and prints, hence the name PrinTrio. This Lexmark does what it says on the tin lol. Including printing at 2,400 by 1,200 dpi resolution at speeds up to 11 PPM in black, and 6 PPM in colour, one-touch 48 bit scanning and one-touch colour copying. Note, ... ...well if you use official Lexmark cartridges it is pretty good, thou I wouldn't recommend it as a photo printer, if u are using refills or compatibles then the quality is slightly worse but not that noticeable.
Now cost of cartridges :/ this is where for me the printer has its major downfall. Colour Lexmark are around £30 and black are not much cheaper at around £25. Compatibles are only about £5 cheaper, so it is worth spending that ... more

Low printer prices have made the Lexmark X75 PrinTrio unit a bargain well what I class as a bargain, it cost me around £50inc delivery and 2 cartridges which cost about the same as this. Including printing at 2,400 by 1,200 dpi resolution at speeds up to 11 PPM in black, and 6 PPM in colour, one-touch 48 bit scanning and one-touch colour copying. Note, the printer needs to be attached to the computer and the computer needs to be on for it to work as a copier.
A good thing about this "printer" is the design of the product. It is compact. At about 18 x 13 x 6" don't ask what it is in cm the ruler I had only had inches lol. to be honest it isn't that much larger than a single printer and takes the same area up as a scanner The power on/off button has a silver finish which I actually think is rather tacky the paper feed is standard grey and so is the scan button, colour copy is green and black copy is surprise surprise black. The scanner is bilt into what I would call the lid of the printer, so this avoids it blocking up the in and out trays, also the scanner lid is removable, which makes it easy to scan in books, newspapers etc.
The scanner part of the printer can reduce or enlarge from I believe 20% of the original size up to 400% I'm not 100% at the minute, I will update if I find out for certain. it also comes with an OCR (optical character recognition) program it also comes with fax software, it doesn't have fax function on its own, thou I can say I'm yet to work out how to use it as a fax, not that I really need to.
The setup of the Printer is simpler for pretty much anyone. Remove the printer from the packing. plug in the power box and the power cable then the USB cable, insert your software disk and install, if you run a Mac os it also comes with a Mac install disk, I've only used the windows one, but I can say that it is extremely user friendly and even my mum could install it :)
Now, print quality, well if you use official Lexmark cartridges it is pretty good, thou I wouldn't recommend it as a photo printer, if u are using refills or compatibles then the quality is slightly worse but not that noticeable.
Now cost of cartridges :/ this is where for me the printer has its major downfall. Colour Lexmark are around £30 and black are not much cheaper at around £25. Compatibles are only about £5 cheaper, so it is worth spending that extra £5 for the better print quality.
Overall I would recommend this printer, thou if you are a heavy printer or print a lot of graphics then this printer isn't for you. I shall later review my other printer which is a HP 1100 summit or the other lol this is more the type of printer u want for photo quality.
Advantages: Simple to use Disadvantages: Pricey Ink Cartridges
...printing in colour.
The lexmark all in one software is extremely easy to use for copying, scanning etc. But it is also very helpful if you every need help with technical problems.
The printer only cost £50 with 2 packs of photo paper thrown in and so was extremely good value.
The biggest downside is the cost of replacement cartridges, the high capacity cartridgescost around £25 pounds each for black and colour. I have tried getting them refilled, ... ...change for new cartridges.
Overall this is a good printer, a good copier, a good flatbed scanner, not sure about Fax as never had cause to use it.
I would just like to give a bit of an update, during the last month the printer has been used quite heavily by my Wife for printing posters and writing up her course work, we are now using High capacity Cartridges and although expensive at around £25 each, we are finding that they do actually last a ...

Advantages: Cheap and versatile Disadvantages: you get what you pay for
Having owned my X75 for a couple of years now, I can offer feedback based on a range of experiences.
Now, at times, I've made my X75 work hard, and it has ofrten done a very good job. As a printer, copier and fax tool it does all three and is reasonably easy to configure etc. Where it fails to impress though, is that the ink level meter on the software mis-represents the true situation.
The software will report low levels, and advise that I buy ... ...when I have done so! Now there are, of course, many reasons whay my documents with blue on print as pink instead, but buying new cartridges isn't the answer. If someone (Lexmark International even) would admit why it is that my documents aren't printing correctly I'd be much obliged.
One final note is that there are two versions of each cartridge. Heavy use and the other one. The standard cartridges cost at least 75% of the expensive "heavy use" ...

...is the worst printer that lexmark could have ever made. They should go back to the drawing board and pull the printers before they get a bad reputation based on 1 item. To be honest, I will never buy another lexmark product b/c of my experience with this piece of garbage!!! Too bad I can't get my money back!!!!
It is cheap alright. Definetly costs less then the window I threw the &%$@#$ thing out of!!!!!! ...

Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: needs constant cleaning of the printer heads
if you are looking for a cheap printer, then this is one..........but if you don't want a printer that's constantly going to get on your nerves, to the point of wanting to hit it with a sledgehammer then obviously avoid this one like the plague -explaination: when you first start off with this printer it seems fine(full cartridges) but after several printing sessions you notice horizontal lines across your printing, you go to the maintenance section ... ...heads need cleaning, so you do that, noting that it prints you a lengthy test page(taking a lot of ink), that usually results in having to do another test sheet, as the first one shows you to have had a bad first one, thereby taking more ink! etc etc so overall a printer that needs printer heads cleaning on a regular basis in order for you to be able to print a simple document/photo, and if you have the half-filled cartridges rather than the full ...
