Advantages: Good little printer Disadvantages: Expensive consumables
Last June I bought a Lexmark Z11 for £42. It appeared to be excellent value for money. I set the printer up, and printed various things, text and pictures to see what it was like. The quality was quite good, not as good as some other printers, but it did only cost £40.
The printer is quite small, and does not take up much desk space, although you need a bit of space in front of it for the printed sheets to come out. When printing it is quite noisy, ... ...difficulty finding shops that sold Lexmark cartridges, and when I did find somwhere (PC World), a coulor and a black cartridge would cost £55. That is over ten pounds more than I paid for the printer.
Apart from the high costs of consumables, the printer is a good buy.
Whenever I buy things now, I always check and see how much replacement consumbales will cost. ...

Advantages: Cheap, all the usual features, good quality prints Disadvantages: Pricey ink cartridges, slightly dodgy paper feed
I got this printer bundled with my PC system. Along with a Mustek scanner, it cost £100, so the price I paid for it was probably around £50. I didn't expect miracles; all I wanted was a printer that would do the job on both color and black text prints. My first impressions were good. The manual was well-written, and I soon had the printer up and running on my desktop. The printer duly printed out Word documents, at unremarkable speed, and did very ... ...nifty indicator showing how much ink is left in the cartridge, as well as job progress, whenever you decide to print out a document. The printer also performed extremely well on transparencies. Unfortunately, after having used it for over a month, certain disadvantages came to light. First off, color printer cartridges are £25, and judging from the rate I am going, don't last all that long. Black and white cartridges are slightly cheaper, I'm told, ...

...money so we chose the lexmark Z11 and Im very glad we did. Right from the very start it's been so easy to use , to start with it was a very quick and easy set up and then away you go. Even an idiot can use it (and I can vouch for that lol) The printing is top quality and at 1200dpix1200dpi it can give near photo quality. Of course you can change the Dpi setting as you don't need it that high for documents and I think this is why some people think ... ...changed the options, Its also a very quick printer and we got a free Disney design studio with it which is great for the kids as they love to make there own cards and bookmarks etc. But by far the best feature of this printer is the price at under £70 you really cant go wrong can you. ...

Advantages: small, compact, cheap Disadvantages: Have to keep swapping cartridges around
The Lexmark Z11 is a dinky "mini metro" printer which looks cute and takes up very little room on the table! I bought this about a year ago as it looked good, promised 1200x1200 dpi printing and only cost £70 on the internet (it can now be found for around £40 as it has been superceded by other models). I have been quite impressed with this printr - it is reasonably quiet in operation, reasonably fast for the price, and easy to set up. It's print ... ...is a bind. Finally the cartridges are expensive, and you can't get cheaper versions like you can for Epsom printers. It should be noted that Lexmark now use special pigmented black ink in their cartridges, producing a quality that is almost as good as laser printers. ...

Advantages: Reasonably good value, easy to setup and maintain. Disadvantages: Quite slow, not suitable for high-quality printouts.
I use the Lexmark Z 11 at work. It's not the best printer I have ever used but it is not the worst either. Its relatively standard as printers go. It prints at 1600 DPI and can either have a black or colour inkjet cartridge installed at a time. It can print about 4 pages per minute on average, which isn't bad going. On some occasions it can print more than that. It costs around £50 - £75 now, although it was over £100 when it was bought at work. ... ...paper in the feeder and it is easy to maintain and install new cartridges.
It's main set back is the cost of replacement cartridges. Black one's cost around £25 and colour one's cost about £30, depending on where you go.
If you are looking for a budget printer for home use, you couldn't go to far wrong with this one. ...
