I bought this printer to just do a few "printing chores" at work. I was fed up with going into internet cafes to print out schedules, staff photos and profiles, etc., and so I decided to treat us to a printer to link up to my personal laptop, which I bring into work and which everybody tends to use.
It is currently on special at Argos for £19.99, so I thought I'd have one, easy to purchase in the manner of all normal Argos walk-in transactions. You do have to purchase a USB cable to connect it, but thats only another couple of quid, and the lady on the till does check to see whether you want to buy one as well. It does, however, come with the power cable (obviously), so you don't have to worry about buying that.
So I got it home, unpacked it, plugged it in to the laptop. It has a weird little box thing that you slot into the power section but which you plug the powerplug into, not difficult to figure out, then I just inserted the USB cable and used the disk to install which was a walk-through experience, very simple. I eschewed registering online at that point in time, but probably wil later. So it was all linked up,
and bish-bosh! ... You're printing.
It prints a bit slow, but the colours and delineation are fine ... and for the purposes of printing photos of our staff on glossy paper, its not really the right sort of printer we were looking for (but thats more a problem of the industry we're in, rather than the fault of the printer) ... but if you are looking for a knock-the-job-out printer that fits in a small corner which you just want to use to print off sheets or letters on, its fine.
I think the ink cartridges start from about a tenner maybe up to about seventeen quid, so at the price of the printer, you'll be paying more in ink than the cost of the actual printer, but when its just there for the purposes of printing bits and pieces, it really is a perfectly cool little printer: it does what it says on the tin.
