Perfect Student printer! Its cheap, and thats the most important thing. It doesnt have the best print quality, but you cant ask that much from a 20.00 printer. The box says 'easy colour printer' and thats what you will find inside. The large graphical set up instructions make it easy for anyone to install the printer without any troubles. It would be nice if they included the cable needed to connect it to the pc or laptop, but one of these can usually be picked up for relatively cheap or found around the house from a previous purchase so its not that bad.
Wouldnt recommend you try to use this printer for photo printing, but if you are looking for a printer to print essays so you dont have to use the library computers, this is a good choice. Its a nice little printer for when money is tight and you would rather spend it on other things (we all know a student budget doesnt cover expensive printers!!)

The printer comes with a colour cartridge, no black cartridge. My first insinct was to check the Lexmark websites for replacements - you can get (up to date price) 1 black and 1 colour for 22 pounds. I thought this was reasonable, but this being my first printer i dont know in comparison. You can also get them for cheaper on Ebay - but watch out for the 'compatible' ones - these might invalidate your guarantee.
Printing speed isnt the best, but is acceptable.
Print quality is high - first few prints seemed to have lines across them but once i got it going these dissappeared and i have had good quality since - i think it was just down to it being new.

How much does the ink cartridges cost. Historically, Lexmark printers have been cheap to buy, but the cost of the ink is prohibitive, especially for students, where money is tight.
Does the printer work for Mac OSX, or Linux ?
