Advantages: A very different car to be seen in, great fun to drive on country roads, full of character!! Disadvantages: Expensive to fuel, noisy engine at times,
...have decided to sell my Lexus GS 300 (mainly because my other half keeps banging on about the cost of running it!) In order to help sell, and because the car was broken into and vandalised (literally slashed most of the seats) I went about searching for an all leather interior upgrade, as mine was an odd two tone black and red cloth.
After much searching online and on ebay I found a breakers yard in Enfield, London called 0800 SPARES ... ...to them form Leicester, but it was worth it! The interior is immaculate and I will be fitting it asap, cant wait! I was like a kid in a candy shop- "oooh and i'll have that radiator, and that trim pack, and those carpet mats, and that mirror glass " you get the picture.
They have loads of old and new stripped out cars all racked in parts, like every man secretly wants his garage to be like!

After much searching online and on ebay I found a breakers yard in Enfield, London called 0800 SPARES I think, absolutely brilliant! It was an hours drive down to them form Leicester, but it was worth it! The interior is immaculate and I will be fitting it asap, cant wait! I know that once the interior is in, and the new radiator and other bits are in, I might not want to sell it!!
I shall post pics when its minted up!

Quick review of Lexus GS 300/430
The current Lexus GS300 is surely one of the best cars in its class.
The smoothness of ride is not matched by the Mercedes E Class or the BMW 5 Series. Its handling has improved from the GS300 pictured above, as have the looks which, in my opinion, are of a very high standard. I would really recommend this car, especially as the price is so competitive even with a large number of extras added. ...

Quick review of Lexus GS 300/430
I bought a GS300 SE 8 weeks ago (2 years old) - 4 of those weeks were spent at the dealership - Endless rattles and poor interior finish as for the outside, paint finish very poor. - could have done better with a paint can from Holfords! Horrible to drive. This has to be the worst car i have ever owned. Of people are thinking about one of these don't , save yourself £,000s and buy a premium brand or just an ordinary Toyota at least you wont expect too much.
I have lost alot of cash on this car and now need to buy a car that is fit for purpose - if anything good comes from this don't buy one and save yourself some trouble and pain. ...

I just felt the need to write something about this car.
I was invited to attend one of those strange sort of meteings where members of the public are invited to give their opinions on products. Consumer research they call it but since this was my first I did feel out of place and the presentation was a little strange.
I will not bore you with the preamble that led up to the revealing of the car itself which, up until that point, was cloaked in ... ...to see it. In my view the company has succesfully managed to create some mystic with the car. My view is that, however good the advertising, it is grossly overpriced for what it is and it is only the snob value that holds RRP.where it is. For this reason youn can rest assured every owner will praise it to the hilt otherwise they are omitting they were done. ...

Advantages: Spacious Disadvantages: Sluggish, Fuel Economy, New models pricey!
I have owned a 1998 Lexus GS300 SE MK II (New Model). I purchased this approx a year ago after trading in my old Mk1 Lexus GS300.
The only thing I have had to replace so far, are the tyres due to natural wear/tear.
The ride is smooth/comfortable, and as with all Lexus you have a that feeling you are in a safe / prestige car. This car also turns heads (No not the average boy racer, but the average joe bloggs in the street!).
I am always getting ... ...private plate on, it looks almost brand new (even after coming upto 5 years old).
The only quarm I have is that the MPG for local trips could be better. On a run, it averages 28-30mpg. Round the doors, nearer 19-20.
I would definately recommend a GS300 MK2 to anyone considering it. The NAVIAGATION version is a very good option but expensive if bought as a new factory option. ...
