In August 1983 - the Toyota Chairman made a decision to design a luxury vehicle to challenge the worlds best. By January 1989 the LS400 series is unveiled to the world in Detroit USA.
Skip a few years now to 2005, a few more Lexus deisgns and Las Vegas. On holiday in Las Vegas we used the Lexus LS430 to get about between the resorts and various casinos.
Lexus say the LS430 is one of the quietest cars in the world: I can only agree
The look of the car and the exterior is not overpowering and has gentle, sweeping curves with close-fitting panels giving an overall graceful apperance that ouzes quality.
Being a women I am not all that clever about motor vehicles, but I do know class and comfort - the Lexus offers Class, Comfort and that little bit more. We have a Lexus at home one of the very early models, a Soarer, so I felt quite familiar with some of the features the LS430 has and very confident that the car we were using was going to deliver a full and satisfying drive. I was not proved wrong in anyway, infact I have been completely impressed by this car. I really cannot fault it and would consider buying one (if I could ever afford it) when the Soarer comes to an end
I was not the driver (dare I drive in the states - not for me) but as a willing passenger I can say the ride was fantastic. Smooth and almost senseless, no external sounds, no bumps. The LS430 lends itself to the straight roads of America and due to the silence and even ride, it was easy to mis-judge the speed we were traveling at. According to Lexus the reason for this is the generous use of quality soundproofing materials, flat underbody panels, creating a low aerodynamic drag coefficient and an exquisitely refined engine, contributing to the sense of tranquility experienced inside the LS 430. I agree
The GPS navigation system was easy to use, or so my driver explained, but it went a bit over my head. The air conditioning came into its own as temperatures outside soared to 100 deg C. There was loads of leg room and I'm quite tall at 5' 8" and the seats totally fitted my posture with easy manipulation.
As a passenger this car is awesome, the only time I felt uncomfortable was giving it back. I so wanted to keep it - forever.
This is a reasonably comprehensive list of standard features for the Lexus, LS430, - Air Conditioning, Auto Climate Control, AM/FM Stereo, AM Stereo, Additional Power Outlet(s), Bucket Seats, Body Side Molding, Center Arm Rest, Compact Disc Changer, Clock, Console, Cassette, Cruise Control, Driver Air Bag, Dual Climate Control, Digital Dash, Driver Memory Seat, Daytime Running Lights, Front Disc Brakes, Fog/Driving Lamps, GPS Navigation System, Intermittent Wipers, Keyless Entry, Leather Seats, Passenger Air Bag, Power Brakes, Power Drivers Seat, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Moon Roof, Passenger Memory Seat, Power Passenger Seat, Premium Wheels, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Air Conditioning, Rear Arm Rest, Rear Defrost, Rear Disc Brakes, Side Air Bags, Trip Odometer, Tilt Steering
excellent review clear and straight forward. gets the point across very well.

Good review. My brother in law has a Lexus LS200 which he imported from America and he worships it. He wont even take it out if its raining. He polishes it every weekend and generally loves it. To me its just a car though!
