The car being reviewed is the 2010 Lexus RX.

The new RX Lexus is here ! Its all new and all fabulous. The engine is the RX 350, it?s gotta V6 275 horsepower engine, it comes with a 6 speed sequentially shift automatic transmission. This car also comes with a RX 450 hybrid engine version that has 295 horsepower..it has 3 electric engines.. 1 engine for the transmission and the starter, 1 engine to drive the front wheels and another engine for the rear wheel drive and regenerative braking.

Now this vehicle all new from the ground up and has some great new technologies, it has some things which are different from any other vehicle I have seen in the past. For example like the "damping" underneath to reduce road noise...I could also see a significant amount of damping on the top front of the engine, because in fact you can't really see the engine. Also inside the wheel wells there is felt lining...that also reduces some of the road noise. All with the goal to reduce as much noise as possible..so the cabin noise can be kept to a minimum level.

The all new RX has a couple new features with the headlights...1)is an option with auto dimming headlights ie..when another vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction, the lights will automatically dim. This car also has articulating headlights which were also on the previous generation. But what Lexus have done with this generation..is that the headlights will turn as you turn round the corner..what they'll do is anticipate where your gunna be a few seconds down the road. So depending on your speed and the turn angle of the steering wheel..you can see enough of the road of where your turning into.

At the tail end some ?shenan-aggins? are a foot with windshield wipers and vehicle antenna...The winshield wiper used to be down below..but Lexus have moved it so its hidden in the spoiler so you don't even see the windshield wiper unless its activated. They've also taken the AM / FM antenna and put them in the spoiler as well so they are hidden from viewing and you never see them. Another feature that's on the back of the RX is the rear backup camera, which will show on the navigation system. But if you don't have a navigation system will show up on the rear view mirror. The LED tail lights come on a fraction of a second sooner than the regular tail lights which is a little bit of a safety feature, but the LED tail lights also use less energy.

Moving to the inside the navigation system has some interesting changes. They've moved it from the centre console back onto the dash so its better in the line of sight for the driver to see the road and the navigation screen at the same time. But indoing so that Lexus have moved the controls for the navigation down to the "remote" touch device which is similar to a computer mouse, which enables the driver to keep their hands in a very natural position drive the car and to operate the navigation system at the same time. There's a saying bigger is better..its not always true, but in the RX case the cabin space, where the passengers are sitting, but also more rear cargo space, due to the double wishbone suspension at the back.

The RX also comes with front side cameras...but also has some many different ways to change the features of the vehicle,..it even has voice recognition...something like outta Knight Rider...for example you can talk in your natural language to raise the temperature or navigate to find your favourite restaurant...that has definitely got to be the why to buy this car.

Why a Lexus?
Car review of Lexus RX300 by szkl

Advantages: Not a BMW, Volvo or Merc
Disadvantages: None if you value invisibility

...expensive pile of rubbish I have ever owned ( I have owned 16 cars to date). The Lexus just does what it says on the box gets you there. First time every time in quiet confortable luxury without a statement of following the crowd (or sheep in their opinions). ... Read review

Lexus RX300
Car review of Lexus RX300 by cartmane

Advantages: It'll never break down
Disadvantages: Heavy on the petrol!

The RX300 has recently been replaced by the RX350 (same car with a new 3.5L engine, a better stereo, Sat Nav & a couple of other minor changes). I bougth my RX last July & can honestly say that it's best car that I've ever had despite it only doing 20 mpg. We looked at other large (German) 4x4s before we decided to buy & they paled into insignificance when compared £ for £ with the Lexus. You can find many sites on the internet that will tell you ...
...couple of tips from me - * If you buy one, get the Sat Nav option as it is abosulte perfection despite it being on the pricey side - it'll also apparently keep the resale value of your car up. * I don't tow myself but have heard stories about the intelligent gearbox that's in the RX not being so smooth when a caravan or horsebox is attached to the back - ask the dealer about this! ... Reviews which might be of interest for Lexus RX300
fantastic alternative to the norm
Car review of Lexus RX300 3.0 Litre by  steporsche

Advantages: The comfort and engine, very modern looking inside and out
Disadvantages: rolls a tad round bends, but its a big car

...Having just bought my first Lexus and being a RX300 SE-L, i have to say the car is fantastic. We were on the look out for a larger car as we are expecting a baby, i never wanted a large 4x4 until i saw this car. we looked at the usual X5 and merc but all failed to meet the spec delivered by the RX, it has everything you need and more. it probably wont be the best off road but who actually takes their X5 off road unless being chased by the police (well most are owned by drug dealers). the ride is fantastic and the comfort level amazing. i traded in a porsche which was like a go-kart after driving the RX and has slowed me down no end. i would also add the service from the dealer as 2nd to none. the only issue was the reg plate was squint which is a tiny mistake. highly recommended...
