We wanted a high driving position together with comfort and space for the kids.
The reality of driving in the overcrowded island is 35 mph average journey speeds. Therefore handling is not so important. What is important is safety, stopping ability, security both of the car and its occupants. ea world acceleration 30-70 is good, not blistering; but who cares it's a SUV not a sports car.
15000 miles later in 9 months. No breakdowns, no repairs, no faults. No oil used at all. 1st service at 10,000 mile £139.00 inc VAT.
All in all a fabulous car and great residuals when we come to sell. It replaced a Jaguar XJ8 which was the most expensive pile of rubbish I have ever owned ( I have owned 16 cars to date).
The Lexus just does what it says on the box gets you there. First time every time in quiet confortable luxury without a statement of following the crowd (or sheep in their opinions).

A tad on the light side (your review that is!) How does it handle on the corners, how do the kids find the back?
