I get back ache occasionally from leaning over the computer too much. While the obvious answer would be to stop doing it, that isn't always possible. I usually use Ibulieve gel, which works well, but knew I couldnt keep pausing at work to apply it, so invested £3.49 for a pack of 2 Nurofen heat patches. The box says they are specifically designed for back pain and contain Nurofen, I didn't think I could go far wrong. Opening the box revealed two separately sealed heat patches, which were bigger than I had imagined they would be. The plastic packaging says they offer deep muscle relaxing heat, and effective, soothing pain relief. Pain relief without the medicine

Advantages: Heat, they work, discreet
Disadvantages: None

but I did press it a few times and found it warmed up a little bit more when I did that. It does feel a bit funny on your back at times, like you have a hot gel consistency on your back but the great thing is that it's odourless and discreet so you can wear it under clothes without anybody knowing you have it on. According to the packet heat therapy helps treat the underlying cause of back and muscle pain in two ways: 1. By increasing blood flow to the area 2. By relaxing tight sore muscles. According to doctors this helps you get active again and speeds up the recovery process. Now I only had a mild back pain, just a little niggle at the end of a long day but after wearing this I didn't have any more pain so it definitely worked for me. Nurofen heat patches For a hopefully never to be repeated bad back, I bought these heat patches. ~~What are they?~~ As the name of the product suggests, they are heat patches for anyone suffering with back pain. The product will apparently provide effective 8 hour pain relief for backaches, muscle pain and neck or shoulder pain, without there being any need for medicines.
