Don't know about 24 hours but pretty damn quick.

Advantages: Easy to Follow, Wide range of Recipes
Disadvantages: You want more, Some of the Dishes aren't Beginners level.

I am one of those people who have never cooked. I'll fix the Computers and paint a wall but not cook. This book was given to me when I moved away and I love it. For a beginners book, it is a bit overambitious. There is a list of 'Kitchen Essentials' in the front of which I own the top two; the rest of it is just a comic list of things I will never own. Also there are a number of dishes in there which I would not class as beginners dishes: Roast Dinners ...
...there are many dishes which are extremely tasty and easy to make. It is a real joy to cook from this book. There is an extremely good curry section all of which taste amazing. The recipe doesn't involve hundreds of unheard of ingredients as I know some cook books do and the instructions are well laid out and easy to follow. Advantages: If adhered to strictly does give good weight loss
Disadvantages: Nasty taste in your mouth is only down side

Great way for kids (big and small) to get into cooking!
