Slimming World Curry Feast

Advantages: Easy to follow instructions
Disadvantages: Pictures look great - mine turn out looking different

...nerve racking...however being on the slimming world diet I thought it can't be any worse than the other concoctions I have taken to eating in a bid to lose weight. I have only made 2 things from the book so far,a chicken curry which was even nicer when it had been frozen and reheated and the onion bhaji's which were really, really good but for those in the know quite high in syn value. The receipe's are one to a page, with every other one having a full page picture of the finished product. The different sections of the book are well defined: starters, salads, meat, poultry, fish, rice and lentils and pulses, vegetables and accompaniments. The book cost me (I think) £8 from my slimming world consultant which I think is great value ...

I bought the Good Housekeeping cookery book in 1975 from a book club at a reduced rate. It has seen me through thirty two years, two marriages, and child raising. I still use it and recommend it today. Back and front covers have come off, favourite pages have drops of cake mixture on them, but it has pride of place on my kitchen shelf and the recipes still work. A rather slow cook read...

...waiting for me to find the time to read the instruction booklet and start working out how it was used. Eventually I got it out and decided to buy myself a cook book so as to get the best out of my new appliance. I bought the gina Steer one as it had some good reviews and I liked the way the recipes were laid out, they looked very clear and easy to read and the pictures made the food look very tempting! The recipes I've used from this have all turned out really well and have been very tasty however, a few of them have tasted rather 'samey' despite the fact the recipes appear so different so this disappointed me. Also, I found that the recipes were not very 'easy'.
