Advantages: A superb album, very catchy, entertains throughout Disadvantages: Still Tragicly underrated
It seems strange that its been a couple of months since my last music review. So to get myself back into music reviews again I?ve decided to go for a recent addition to my music collection. The third album from, The Beta Band. They are one of the best kept secrets in the country, that in fact everyone will probably have heard at some point. I?m sure your probably wondering how that?s possible, well they appear on a number of soundtracks. Most notably one of the main tracks on Trigger happy TV was by The Beta Band and they also get a mention in High Fidelity.
Coming out of Edinburgh they have risen slowly with 2 previous albums and a collection of their EP?s. It?s the appearance on Trigger Happy that really brought them to my attention and inspired me to seek out some music by the band. Although they receive a lot of coverage they seem ...
Advantages: Really Good Student Environment, Really Friendly Staff, Good Value Drinks and Entry Fee Disadvantages: Perhaps not fully catered to clubbers.
The Limelight, located on the Ormeau Avenue, just a few minutes walk from the city center. Straight away before we even entered the bar, we were greeted by bouncers..."Oh Oh", but no, a friendly hello was given to us, and onwards we went, we paided out money in, £3 (on a tuesday nite) and proceded in. The Limelight Consists of 3 main sections, Each playing a different style of music, ranging from rock to the right to dance to the left. Another thing which I was intriged at was the wall in the main bar, covered by signed photo ...
Advantages: smooth, quick, easy to install and use, pretty to look at, simplified for the masses Disadvantages: Vista should have been like this - Microsoft robbed us!
Windows 7 makes Windows Vista feel like a beta. That?s my philosophy. It was my philosophy before I bought Windows 7 and it?s still my philosophy now. That?s where the ?it looks like Vista? comments come from. Windows 7 is Vista without all the rubbish. Everything people moaned about in vista is gone (or improved) and 7 is more spangly and all singing and dancing. It looks better, runs more smoothly and is simple to use. You might even say its been dumbed down for the masses. Simplified. It?s a pleasure to use. It loads more quickly than Vista and is aesthetically pleasing as it does so.
The first thing to note is the ease with which it installed. For those of us brave enough to install our own operating systems (and re-install every so often to keep it fresh), we all know the pain and misery that it can lead too, but I have to say ...
