Where does it come from? Australian wines always seem to taste so good because they are exceptionally fruity, very smooth, sometimes oaked and usually fairly cheap, just what I like and hence my interest in this one at around half price. This wine is from South East Australia; the bottle does states “full bodied, well balanced wine with rich fruit flavours” but it does not say where or what region it’s produced.
What’s it like? I like wines from the Barossa valley as the climate produces wines full of fruit, good flavour balance and that Aussie smooth softness which is so delicious. Well I don’t know how long it will stay in stock at this price but it is an absolute steal, why did I buy only a case, especially Aussie Shiraz/Cabernet and this one may change my opinion of buying on line wines with a screw cap. The bottle tells us nothing about the wine but take it from me it is full of “richness and full spicy fruit flavours”

The alcohol content is declared at 14% making it potent, this is certainly full bodied and you get the strength of that alcohol straight away. The grape is pure Shiraz spice and cabernet bite this is a typical Aussie wine with spice, lots of cherry and blackberry fruit flavours, delicious. Hold on a minute must have another slurp. That’s better.
What Food to Drink with it. I think it needs to be served at room temperature so don’t forget to open it earlier and let it rest in the warmth for a few hours, bet you won’t, I couldn’t wait for my first sip. This is a ball buster and it will compliment strong powerful dishes try it with a spicy beef casserole or best new seasons game pie.
Conclusion. This must be the find of the month at this price. Its typical Aussie smooth, spicy and oaky go out and buy some before it’s all gone.
Those of you who have read my other opinions will appreciate that I expect all Australian wines to be smooth enough to charm a jolly swagman from under the shade of a koolabah tree. Well this wine does just that. Good one John Lewis Thanks for reading.
