INTRO
A couple of years ago I went amp shopping. Or more specifically I went into a guitar shop and just started playing some amps. I spotted a lovely little amp as soon as I walked into the shop and for some reason it caught my attention. I read the label; "Line6Spider112 - WAS £280, NOW £230"
A bargain, I thought.
So I asked to play it. He kindly plugged me in, brought me a guitar and a stool and away I went. I fell in love with it within 10 minutes. I tried all the settings and was amazed at what I could get out of it. Not long after another clerk walked over to me, "Sorry mate, that price tag is wrong." Bugger! I knew it was too good to be true, "It's actually only £200 now." BANG! Down went the deposit, "I'll be back next week to pick it up."
And to this day I still get sexually aroused every time I crank that ...

The Line6Spider III 15 guitar combo amplifier is a 15 watt solid state guitar amplifier with built-in amp and effects modeling. It's a good small amplifier for a starting guitar player, and makes a great home practice amp for more experienced players.
The Line6Spider III is a superb amp for it's price. It is a 4 channel amp with 6 effects (up to 2 at a time). It has a headphone jack and a CD/MP3 input so you can play along with your music. This amp is pretty sturdy so it won't break easily. There is 4 choices of sound clean, crunch, metal and insane. On the downside though this amp needs to be up quite loud to get the right tones.
I am using an Epiphone Les Paul 100 with stock pickups. It fits perfectly with my style of music. This little 15w amp can get extremely noisy when on full, but choose the wrong settings and a lot ...
Advantages: Digital effects, sound quality Disadvantages: Delay function
The Line6Spider is very simply the best emulation combo amp in the £400 range. It not only has a ton of on-board effects(which I will discuss later), but the sound quality that you get from this little 100W kicker is amazing. It has2x10" speakers, a footswitch input (footswitch/floorboard sold separately), and the usual inputs and sends.
The effects on this are unparalleled. Usually on effects-based amps, the effect quality is second rate, but not here. It has a tape echo, flanger, delay, chorus, and many types of overdrive and distortion, all in 4 channels that featuring varying preset conditions. You can also save particular effects settings for instant recall. The cool thing about this amp is the tap button. It's a small round button that you tap twice, and the speed with which you tap it sets the delay, or the tape echo ...
