Advantages: Good Speed, Easy Configuration, Quick Setup, Good Documentation, Integrated 4-Port Switch Disadvantages: Many configurable options, some networking knowledge required
I would highly recommend this Router to either a networking novice or professional looking to setup a home or small office network.
I was surprised at how easy this was to setup and configure in my environment.
After connecting the few cables and rebooting my PC's, everything seemed great though I could not connect to the Internet. I realised that I have not restarted my Cable Modem and after doing so eveything linked correctly and could again access the internet.
On reading the documentation I realised I should have done this initially, however this omission was down to my normal method of only reading the documentation after the installation.
The Router has a large number of features that can be customised to suit your own environment, and some that perhaps should be left for those of a more technical nature.

Advantages: Good routing speed, many options, hardly crashes! Disadvantages: Build quality not as good as some other routers out there
Well I'll give it another go (for the third time). I initaily bought this exact router 2 years ago when it was really expensive, but knowing little knowledge of broadband I got lazy and sold it on. The second time I bought one just last year which was a Netgear one which I got working just about, before it started crashing every 10 minutes (that and the NTL box). So third time round I did a little research into the best routing options and was back to Linksys :).
Now with the version 3 of this router out and not the version 2, I'd heard some good comments on this routers stableness, so decided to go for it once more. Third time it was a hit! I plugged it in and hooked up all my pcs to it, did all the nescessary details and reset everything, and it worked like a dream!
There are many options you can choose from including port ...
Advantages: Reliable, good support Disadvantages: bigger than other similar routers from competitors
This unit replaced an awful Belkin router which was a simlar specification and price. This router was so much better, i.e. it worked,
The installation was straightforward enough, and the router was up and running with 2 pc's connected without a problem.
Compared to the Belkin unit it is a no frills product, the colour is OK, but whereas the Belkin looked sleek, thie linksys s more function over form. I wasn;t really bothered though, it was going to be sat next to the modem out of sight.
The ethernet sockets are round the back of the unit, and the system LED's are on the front. Also the unit is stable enough not to be lifted when multiple wires are plugged into it. This can be a problem with very small units which are so light the cables own tension can lift them off the floor/desk where you placed them.
Probably the most you ...
