4 port router - low priced but reliable
Review of Linksys Instant Broadband EtherFast Cable/DSL Firewall Router with 4-Port Switch/VPN Endpoint - router by
exup35
Advantages: Reliable, good support
Disadvantages: bigger than other similar routers from competitors
...This unit replaced an awful Belkin router which was a simlar specification and price. This router was so much better, i.e. it worked,
The installation was straightforward enough, and the router was up and running with 2 pc's connected without a problem.
Compared to the Belkin unit it is a no frills product, the colour is OK, but whereas the Belkin looked sleek, thie linksys s more function over form. I wasn;t really bothered though, it was going to be sat next to the modem out of sight.
The ethernet sockets are round the back of the unit, and the system LED's are on the front. Also the unit is stable enough not to be lifted when multiple wires are plugged into it. This can be a problem with very small units which are so light the cables own tension can lift them off the floor/desk where you placed them.

Dlink 5 Port 10BASET HUb
Review of D-Link DE 805TP - hub - 5 ports by
darkteckno
Advantages: value
Disadvantages: none
...The D-Link 805TP is a great hub to use if you have very little desk space available, and need to network up to 5 workstations together either in a workgroup or a LAN environment. The Hub has 5 LED lights on (5th port is the uplink port to connect to your local LAN if you desire). The remaining 4 ports have UTP connections with corresponding LED's. Power is drawn from a AC/DC jack plug transformer. Great value annd a great buy! If you need a hub then this is the one to buy!...

Linksys Doing What They Do Best.
Review of Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch BEFSR41 - router by
buckirk
Advantages: Small, Light and User-Friendly
Disadvantages: None
...I bought this piece of kit about 2 months ago now as a way to divide my home broadband connection between two PC's. The setup was very straight forward and I had no problems connecting it all up. An installation CD is supplied and has a very user-friendly interface which takes charge of all the setting that are required so all you have to do is sit back a wait for it to complete. It took me about 5 mins to get the whole thing up and running. As for performance, it cannot be faulted in the least. If anything I have found that my broadband now runs a lot better through using this system. In addition to getting onto the internet, the router also provides a LAN system enabling each computer to share files/printers with each other. The router also provides protect against hackers as it has a built in firewall, which helps to block...
