Although there is a lot of pressure for anyone from home users to businesses to 'go wireless', I'd say there really isn't any need. I mean, how often do you move around the house whilst surfing the internet? The likely answer is, not very often. Add to this the higher cost and reduced reliability of wireless routers and there is no wonder many people are sticking to wired routers.
On with the product-
This product comes from linksys, a company with a very good reputation (from what I had heard anyway). Open the box and you are presented with a router that feels very light yet well built. The colour scheme may put some off, but I have it placed under the desk, out of sight.
Installation was as simple as can be- plug it in and we were any. What's even more impressive was that it worked straight away on Ubuntu as well- we can even share files between the Linux and Windows computers!
It has been perfectly reliable so far. Well, there was one incident when the internet had seemingly died, but we later learned that it was a fault at the ISP.
I made a quick visit to the linksys site when I bought the product and it seemed to be a fairly good resource if you are having problems (none here).
The price seems about right when compared the competition (eg. Belkin)
In conclusion, this is a reliable, easy-to-use product. Recommended.

Advantages: Good Speed, Easy Configuration, Quick Setup, Good Documentation, Integrated 4-Port Switch Disadvantages: Many configurable options, some networking knowledge required
...of networking. The Linksys WebSite appears to give good information regarding the products and provides updates for Firmware which can be downloaded directly from their site. With the firmware there is also detailed release notes, however unless these fix a particular issue, I would recommend once the environment is working the way you want it, 'don't fix what isn't broken'.
All in all I was very impressed with this product and would highly recommend ...

Advantages: Reliable, good support Disadvantages: bigger than other similar routers from competitors
...the Belkin looked sleek, thie linksys s more function over form. I wasn;t really bothered though, it was going to be sat next to the modem out of sight.
The ethernet sockets are round the back of the unit, and the system LED's are on the front. Also the unit is stable enough not to be lifted when multiple wires are plugged into it. This can be a problem with very small units which are so light the cables own tension can lift them off the floor/desk ... ...other people as well. The Linksys coped with this without a fault. The only limiting factor being the connection speed of the incoming cable.
The Linksys website offers good information and support too.
The only thing worth mentioning problemwise, was that the updated firmware version was awkward to install, and refused to update for the first few attempts.
I wouldn't bother updating patches if things are ok, but in this particular case I was ...
