Now you can quickly and easily add storage space onto your network with the Linksys Network Storage System. This standalone network appliance features two available SATA hard drive bays so you can attach as much storage as you need now, and add later as your storage needs grow. For even more expandability, there are two USB ports that let you connect readily available USB 2.0 hard drives for even more storage space - or plug in a USB flash disk for a convenient way of accessing your portable data files. Connecting the Storage System to your network is simple - just plug it directly into an available 10/100 Ethernet port on your router or switch, and the storage is instantly accessible by your whole network. The Network Storage System features built-in one-touch backup - just push the button to start a backup of your important files. There are other built-in disk utilities, accessible through your web browser. You can run a self-test or scan the disk(s) for errors. If you've installed a second disk drive, you can back up one drive to the other, either manually or on a schedule. For even more flexibility and utility, the Network Storage System can be set up to be accessible directly from the Internet via a web browser or FTP. Files can be available publicly, or create password-protected accounts for your authorized users. The Linksys Network Storage System is the expandable and accessible storage solution for your network.

Before buying its worth checking that you have a spare PCI slot in your PC, installation is nothing more daunting than removing the cover of your computer (powered off of course!!) and slotting the card into one of the free PCU slots. If you are running Windows XP the operating system will detect the new card automatically and prompt you for the driver CD, other operating systems will require that you insert the CD first.
The card comes with a quick start guide which contains more than adequate instructions for installation; however for the more advanced user there is a full instruction manual in electronic form on the enclosed CD-ROM.

While offering great wireless communication between pc's, laptops, music centers and even games consoles including the Microsoft XBOX 360 or Sony Playstation 3, Cisco have managed to keep the interface and setup relatively easy for anyone with basic computer literacy. Although as i live in an area with an independant phone company i have had to aquire the settings for my router from my isp (karoo). After recieving and setting up the linksys wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway WAG200G has performed to a high standard. Its left on, in my home, for days or weeks at a time and does need a reboot from time to time, which is as simple as pressing the power button off and on again. In my opinion, this accessory is an absolute must have as this is made by Linksys and also Cisco Systems and this means that these brand names can be trusted. It works perfectly and I could not find any faults with it at all. Recommended for both Xbox and PS2 gamers about to get their consoles online or existing online gamers.
