Manufacturer's product description
The intelligent chassis of the Linksys Network Storage System NSS6000 gives administrators and integrators the flexibility to optimize the NSS for performance, capacity and a company's storage and sharing needs. The NSS6000 supports up to 75 concurrent, connected CIFS (Windows, Macintosh, Linux) users. Linksys NSS products bring robust NAS (Network Attached Storage) within reach of today's budget-minded workgroups and small businesses. They are ideal for storing, backing up, sharing and archiving critical information. The feature set of the NSS series set it apart from entry-level, desktop NAS systems, while at the same time its competitive pricing gives small businesses the opportunity to realize substantial cost savings when compared with more expensive storage systems. Unlike other NAS systems, that need to contain operating system software on one or more hard drives in a NAS system, each Linksys NSS product features a unique and intelligent chassis that contains the Linux OS that controls it. This gives the NSS system added stability and reliability, as well as the flexibility to be configured without connected drives or reconfigured at any time - even hot swapping and resorting hard drives to different storage bays. This flexible architecture makes the Linksys Business Series NSS series ideally suited for budget-conscious companies that are constantly growing and evolving. Linksys Business Series NSS products are also Linksys One Ready. That means they include the necessary firmware to be integrated into a Linksys One data or data/voice network.
Advantages: Easy of Installation, Backwards Compatible, Price Disadvantages: Only compatible in PC's
...The Linksys Wireless-G PCI card is perfect for adding Wireless functionality to your home Computer and is a definite buy if you are building your own home wireless network.
Before buying its worth checking that you have a spare PCI slot in your PC, installation is nothing more daunting than removing the cover of your computer (powered off of course!!) and slotting the card into one of the free PCU slots. If you are running Windows XP the operating system will detect the new card automatically and prompt you for the driver CD, other operating systems will require that you insert the CD first.
The card comes with a quick start guide which contains more than adequate instructions for installation; however for the more advanced user there is a full instruction manual in electronic form on the enclosed CD-ROM.
It is backwards compatible...

...-12 seconds, which would have taken nearly a minute on a 100M network. So when I'm transferring files of around 3 GB I really do see the benefit of the gigabitnetwork.
When I first saw gigabit Ethernet coming into the home market I always thought to myself why bother with that, it's too fast. But as technology continues on advancing we are requiring more and more storage space for larger files, which often need to be transferred between computers and networks!
For anyone who requires that little bit of extra speed in the home and is also ready for the extra cost a gigabitnetwork brings by all means go and ahead and this product, it's stylish and performs its job flawlessly.
**Putting Satisfactory for manufacturer support as I've had no dealings with Netgear concerning this product.**...

No time to queue. Review ofNETGEAR ProSafe GS108 8 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch - switch - 8 portsby
Stingwray
Advantages: Well-Made, Fast as Hell. Disadvantages: None.
...There isn't much you can normally say about a Network Switch and what you can say is already spoken for.
The GS108 has 8-ports which all Gigabit enable (1000Mb/s or 125MB/s) which all have embedded LEDS in. The right hand one lights up if the connection is operating at 10/100 Fast Ethernet and the left LED lights up if the connection is at 1000 Gigabit. The LEDs blink with activity.
Also the left of the ports there is another two LEDs per port, the top row lights up with collision (I have never seen any yet) and the bottom if the link is active. Finally there is a Power LED on the far left.
The GS106 is inside a very nice metal case which gives it its excellent quality as most switches come in a horrible plastic case. Its painted a very smart blue and would not look out of place anywhere.
It is very small and as it has no fans...
