I was actually looking to buy a wired router for my home network, but when i came across this wireless one, which was only £4 more than an equivalent wired one, i couldn't resist, and i'm glad i didn't.
It has all the credentials of being a great router.
WPA 2 encryption (the strongest you can currently get to stop people hacking into your wireless network).
It has an inbuilt ADSL modem capable of speeds up to 24Mbps when the new ADSL2+ protocol is rolled out (which has already begun in London and other major cities)
4 port 10/100 network switch, so you can connect 4 computers to it, and they can all share files and printers like in a normal network.
It has a standardised pop-out connection for adding an external high-gain antennae.
It looks great and takes up very little room.
I has a SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) hardware firewall, to help stop malware getting onto your computer or communicating outwards.
You can set it to dynamically set IP addresses or you can set them manually.
It allows NAT(network address Translation) and Port Forwarding, which allow you to host web of FTp servers behind the defense of the router.
And best of all, the range and signal strength are very good. I can easily work in the garden on a nice day and use the net at the full 2Mbps connection i have, or stream DVD's and music from my main Desktop PC without any interruptions, even while someone else is using the net connection.
This is great router that ticks all the boxes, i was up and running in minutes. Instructions are easy and clear to follow. The only downside is that is does not support the MIMO principle, which gives greatly increased speed and range, but you have to pay well over £100 to get that type of technology.
You should be able to pick this up for sub £50 now from places like savastore.com and ebuyer.com
A worthwhile purchase if you're looking to connect multiple computers to the net, either wired or wirelessly, or even as an extra line of defense in the battle against malware.
