An organisation was started up in the United States, by Melvin Jones. In Chicago in 1917 he and some business men got together, with the vision to help people less fortunate than themselves.
They agreed to abide by a certain code of ethics and objects, which included not making money for themselves, or destroying each others business, being unselfish by giving their time and effort freely. With the motto "We Serve"
