Great for dry lips - does what it says on the tin!
Advantages: Very moisturising Disadvantages: Slightly sticky
...this, however this product by Carmex is probably my favourite. Comes in a small yellow tube with a red lid, I believe it is an American product but is widely available over here for around £2-3. The substance itself is thick and clear, sometimes takes quite a bit of squeezing the tube to get some out but that might be because I have not much left, I use it so much! It smells strongly, not unpleasant though, the ingredients on the back state it is ... ...the smell. It is slightly sticky when first applied but quickly leaves lips feeling soothed and soft, think this is the menthol part of it. To say it is only a small product, 10g, it lasts months as only a tiny amount is needed. Instructions on the product also say that it is for Cold Sores but I love it for my dry, chapped lips. ...

Gale Hayman Lip Lift - a must for every woman
Advantages: Can be used alone or under lipstick or gloss without affecting either Disadvantages: Running out!
Gale Hayman Lip Lift is my desert island lip product. I use it every day, relegiously, morning and evening, although I would never forget it lives next to my toothbrush and it is one of those beauty products where you begin to panic when getting to the bottom of the bullet - advisable to have two if you can. QVC offers a dual of this amazing lip treatment and it often is included in Gale Hayman collections on their website.
Lip lift is a collagen ... ...more plump as the years go on! It also offers protection from the elements, so important to prevent lip aging. The bullet is easy to use, just like a lipstick, and if you have "smokers lines", or even if you do not, I advise using all around the outer mouth area to either help or help prevent vertical lines from forming. During the winter months it is a godsend to prevent chapped lips, and during the summer to prevent dry lips from the sun.
I would ...

Gorgeous lips
Advantages: No more dry lips Disadvantages: Quite expensive
I had heard of Elizabeth Arden Eight hour products, but I thought they sounded like something my granny would use so never felt drawn to any of the products at all. Then I read about them in a fashion mag and decided to investigate. Now I am one of those people that cannot go anywhere without my lip salve which I probably appy about 30 times a day, but still end up with dry lips.
This product is not cheap at around £16, but boy is it worth it! I ... ...reached the end and am desperate to go and buy some more.
It feels really smooth on my lips - slightly greasy, but stays on. I probably reapply 2 or 3 times during the day. I have only tried the clear one, which just gives a natural sheen to your lips, but there are other colours as well. ...

Review of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15

Will let you down in your lips' hour of need :(
Advantages: Nice and creamy + pleasant smell and taste + excellent lipstick primer Disadvantages: Tends to be ineffective on v. dry lips - no SPF - like Vaseline, tin version melts
...included. I don't think Burt's Bees realise just how many people prefer SPF lip items...
POT vs STICK
I own both the tin and stick.
I have found that the tin formula has a better texture and applies better. It seems that it is creamier than the stick - the stick is too "solid" and packed.
However, the stick is more portable and melts a lot less during those hot days, if at all. Being metal, the tin just attracts heat.
GENERAL PACKAGING
This ... ...throughout the Burt's Bees range. It also has the bee logo in the centre.
The tin is metal, obviously, with a pop-style lid whereas the tube is plastic with a screw-style base for application. This also has a pop-style lid.
The tube has a sticker, the tin does not; it's 'painted' on, so to speak.
PRICE
In terms of the price, it is value for money for me but not sure about other people. As previously mentioned, I like to use this as a primer for ...

Dual purpose lip fix
Advantages: moisturises lips well Disadvantages: expensive if you use too much you will have problems applying your lipstick
Elizabeth Arden's lip fix creme is a dual purpose product not only can it be used underneath lipstick to ''fix'' it in place it can also be used on its own to moisturise dry and chapped lips. It really does ''fix'' lipstick into place as long as you ony use the tinyest amount of the stuff - if you use to much off it your lipstick just glides over it and dont actually get any lip stick on. I tend to use it as a moisturiser. It is rather expensive ...
