Okay - I had to write this review - as I am currently doing the lipotrim programme, and I find that a majority of highly opinionated people out there are very ill informed about this programme and I need to get some of the real facts out there.
Firstly this programme is broken into 2 catagorys - If you are obese and have a BMI of over 30 this programme is only available from your doctor, your doctor will closely monitor your health - so there is good support there if anything should go wrong
Secondly if you are overweight or obese with a bmi under 30 then this is available through your pharmacy - your pharmacy will closely monitor your health on a weekly basis checking your BMI, weight, and blood pressure.
In order to get this from the pharmacy you need to have at least 2 stone to lose. Not all pharmacy's do this programme and the ones that do are highly trained in lipotrim and everything about it.
Now I read a lot on the internet - mostly skinny people who cant understand why anyone is fat - anyone overweight has heard the bull from
these people - eat healthy and excercise and then you wont be fat. Well I can tell any of those people that its not that easy. When you are overweight and you eat healthy the results are so slow and sometimes non existent - I myself done this and lost 7lb and could not lose anymore no matter what I did I could not lose any more.
So before I continue I want to tell anybody reading this - skinny or fat - that this programme IS NOT a quick fix, it is not the lazy mans way out - because this is one of the hardest, most extreme programmes you can go on, and the diet part is the easy part. You need to maintain your weight after. This programme is a head start in my eyes.
Okay so my journey started 2 weeks ago - nearly 3. After trying numorous fad diets and even eating healthy with nothing working - I decided the time was right to try Lipotrim. I went down to my chemist and discussed this with them and they gave me a dvd to bring home with me.
The DVD was like a cartoon and they dumbed a lot of it down which was fine with me as i dont have a very scientific mind - so ill do my best to tell you what happens.
Lipotrim is a total food replacement - you get to drink 3 shakes a day they come in 4 flavours - chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and chicken soup. The first week is really hard - its like pure torture and anybody who isnt fully commited will give in. You are very hungry the first week and you will find temptations everywhere. A lot of people arent very supportive but if you have one close person who supports you, thats all you need.
After the first week your body starts to produce Keytones - these numb that hunger feeling and make the diet a lot easier. Once your body is in ketosis you will start to regain your energy and a bit more, you will feel very healthy - as the shakes have all your RDA vitimin and minerals. Drinking all 3 shakes a day give you a calorie intake of 416 calories a day - making the calorie gap larger and therefore your body has to use your stored fat as energy and therefor losing weight.
On lipotrim you can expect to lose about a stone a month - but in order to do this you need to very strict with yourself and take one day at a time.
My trick to success is to only take it one day at a time - I tell myself every morning that its only for that day.
Once you have reached you target weight you go onto the maintanence programme. You gradually re introduce food - healthy low carb food. You will be constantly watching your diet for the rest of your life. The 3 rules when you are on maintanence - excercise, portion control and no added fat to anything.
This is not for the weak willed. But it will work if you are willing to committ. It is a life style change.
I will update this review as soon as I get onto maintance
My Maintanence Journey.
Okay I finished Lipotrim on the 30th May 2008 - this is now the 4th of November 2008.
When I finished Lipotrim I weighed 9st 10lb - I was 12st 1lb. I wanted to lose more but I thought I had had enough of Lipotrim. I done the re- feed to a tee and oh god the taste of food again was amazing. The maintanance has a different range of shakes - but I chose to only have the bars - which were really amazing. All of the maintanence shakes and bars are low GI, therefore keeping your blood sugar levels level and keeping you fuller for longer.
After a few weeks I began to eat fairly normally again. I steered clear of takeaways and junk - and to be honest didnt miss them at all. I treated myself every weekend to a bit of dark choclate and popcorn. It took me 3 weeks to even dare drink alcohol.
Ive been loosely following a low gi/gl diet ever since. Ive had the occasional take away, bag of crisps and had the odd night out. Ive even had total blow out days.
Since ive finished Lipotrim ive continued losing weight - I am now 9st 0.5lb, hoping to get down to the 8's now.
So basically in my opinion Lipotrim is what you make of it. If your going to go on it for a specific occasion like a wedding - the chances are your going to put it back on again. I done lipotrim because I felt crap about myself - im only 23 and I hated my body, it made me miserable not to be able to go into any shop I like and buy the clothes I liked. I had no confidence. I will never allow myself to go back to the fat frumpy me.
Lipotrim really changed my life - as corny as that sounds. Im now a size 10 and im not terribly skinny either I still have a little belly - but ill lose the last of it by myself.
